Jerusalem Post Online Takes on Amsel

Posted by Glezele Vayne on April 28, 2009

BS”D

The Jerusalem Post Online published an article on 14 April 2009, by David Shamah, “Digital World: What Creeps Under the Internet Rocks“, which tackles the topic of antisemitic Jews, exposing two in particular for their hypocrisy. He doesn’t name them.

I will name one.

I don’t know anything about the guy in Hawaii discussed in this article, but I am familiar with the writings of Steven Amsel a.k.a DesertPeace, who lives in the French Hill neighborhood (occupied territory according to the Arabs). He is the son and grandson of Holocaust survivors, which makes his self-hating views all the more tragic. I feel compassion for his ancestors.

Alleged former friends have gone on record saying he used to be a hawk, but that he inexplicably went to the hard left at some point. If you don’t want to slog through the entire page, search the page for comment 16 or using “February 5th, 2007 at 12:54 pm” , or the search term “I have few more questions for you about the transformation”. There is accurate information about his political endeavors in Ontario, Canada on the same page as well.

Perhaps he was a mole within the more hawkish circles all along? It happens.

The man deserves to be investigated, fully discredited, and vomited out of Israel. Or a simpler solution: If he hates the “occupation” so much, he could vote with his feet and leave. Please, someone, buy the man a plane ticket so he can act on his integrity. Put your money where your mouth is, Steve. Where is your family “originally” from? Poland, Germany? Hungary? Romania? Maybe you need to go back to where the Arabs of the Middle East (and the Native Americans in the United States) say you belong?

Getting back to the Jerusalem Post Online article, I read most of the comments (58 as of this writing) below Shamah’s article. I only found one that was pro-Israel in some sense. Most were scathingly antisemitic. The writing styles of most of these posts appear so similar, bringing up so many of the same tired old points (what is a semite, anyone who criticizes Israel is labeled an antisemite blah, blah, blah) that it appears to be a writing campaign instigated by Amsel & company. He did notify his supporters of the article HERE. Of course, none of these people would ever admit they are, in fact, Jew haters, Jew baiters, antisemites, Judeophobes, whatever the label (same result). No. They probably believe they are merely being objective.

Eichmann claimed he felt terrible for the Jews who were suffering under his efficient administration of “The Final Solution”. Very few people wake up in the morning, rub their hands together gleefully, and cackle “Hehehe, I think I’m going to do something really evil today.” Most evildoers have managed to fully delude themselves into thinking they are doing good.

If these modern day crusaders for justice are truly objective, they might consider focusing some of their outraged sense of injustice on the people suffering in Tibet or Darfur for a change. Or how about the slaves in Saudi Arabia? Yes, Saudi Arabia still practices slavery. It is also perfectly legal in Saudia Arabia for a 60 year old man to marry a 9 year old girl. Why not tackle the epidemic of honor killings in the Arab/Muslim world? Just a few examples of some truly atrocious injustices being perpetrated on innocents around the world.

Are these people somehow less worthy of our compassion? Why the obsession with Israel’s alleged wrongdoings?

One would think if the issue was merely injustice, Amsel et al would at least lament equally when innocent Israelis are murdered by Hamas or Hezbollah or Fatah…but there is a deafening silence during those times. Either that or Amsel uses the opportunity to blame the victims. He also uses Jewish holidays as times to point fingers at the Jewish state.

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck…guess what? Some points to keep in mind as these hateful commenters claim some of their “best friends” are Jews.

There is truly “nothing new beneath the sun”. Koheles 1:9

Apocalypse? No! – Why there is no Global Warming Crisis

Posted by avideditor on April 28, 2009

In England they call the greens watermelons. They may be green on the outside, but once you start to dig they are red. There is more damage caused to the world in following this myth than any other I know. The jihadis would be powerless if we drilled here now.
