Israel National Radio’s Tamar Yonah recently interviewed Anthropology Professor Francisco Gil-White, who specializes in anti-Semitism, the Arab-Israeli conflict, US geopolitical behavior, and the operation of the Western mass media. He discussed the motives and interplay between the International community, the United States, Iran and the Muslim regimes.
Gil-White who edits the website “Historical and Investigative Research,” where he writes documented articles on geopolitical behavior, with a special emphasis on its repercussions for the State of Israel, explains that the official pronouncements of the United States concerning Iran seem to be one of opposition to that country’s policies, “though, of course, other than words, it’s unclear what exactly the U.S. has been doing in order to harm Iran.”
At the same time, he says, official American representation also leads the public to believe that “the U.S. government is watching over Israel like a guardian angel, making sure that it has its best interests at heart when making geopolitical decisions.
“And then you’ve got an incredibly aggressive push in the last year from the Obama administration demanding that Israel reach a final status agreement with the Palestinian Authority, PLO [and] Fatah, to create a Palestinian state in strategic Israeli territory.”
The common interpretation that makes all these pronouncements consistent with one another, says Gil-White, is one where “Iran is a big danger, but the PLO has nothing to do with Iran and really means to make peace with Israel – and that’s why the U.S., which opposes Iran and has Israel’s best interests at heart, is pushing for a two-state solution between Israel and PLO Fatah.”
Based on his research, however, Gil-White claims that, in fact, the PLO Fatah has a close relationship with Iran. “The U.S. government is obviously aware that this relationship exists, and therefore, when it pushes for a Palestinian state run by PLO Fatah, it is really installing an arm of Iran inside the Jewish state,” says Gil-White.
“There’s no question that the U.S. government, the most powerful actor in the geopolitical arena, is the one leading this process – it knows what it’s doing,” he says. According to Gil-White, the U.S.-led diplomatic “so-called Peace Process” was forced upon Israel, and started with the Madrid conference [in 1991] that Israel reluctantly agreed to while under threat from the United States to lose a lot of its economic support and then led to the Oslo Peace Process. This is “the only reason the PLO is inside Israel borders right now,” he concludes.
Moreover, this process of the so-called diplomatic peace effort is manifest today “in the recent very aggressive diplomacy that the Obama administration has directed against Israel – apparently building Jewish homes in Jerusalem, the capital of the Jewish State, is offensive to the American President.”
Based on his research on HIR, Gil-White also points to the fact that the U.S. does not, in fact, oppose Iran, but rather, supports it. The fact that the “peace” process weakens Israel, and rewards Arab terrorism and Islamic power is not such a contradiction “if you study the last 30 years of geopolitical relationships between the U.S. and Iran,” he says, “Year after year, ever since Ayatollah Khomeini. took power in 1979 — the outbreak of the Islamic revolution — foreign policy has always been designed to strengthen Iran. Of course, the American government’s public declarations are always of enmity towards Iran, but saying something is very cheap – it doesn’t cost anything.”
For many years, the Shah of Iran, Iran’s previous leader who was trying to westernize Iran, was a close ally to of the US government, Gil-White explains, and “the CIA built the Shah’s security service, Chavak, which was infamous for its violence, and its trampling over every single Iranian liberty. It was only in the last couple of years or so of the Shah’s rule that the US seemed to abandon him.” Then-US President Jimmy Carter started to take actions against the Shah, who was supposedly the America’s “westernized” ally because “the US wanted a regime change in Iran, and wanted the mullahs and the Shah out. One hypothesis is that the US had decided to follow a policy of sponsoring Islamic fundamentalism,” he says.
“One of the reasons why doing that was a smart idea in geopolitical terms is that the entire belly of the Soviet Union was populated – the Asian belly of the Soviet Union – with Muslims. Radicalizing those Muslims was a way of destabilizing the Soviet Union and this is something that worked very well in Afghanistan for example,” says Gil-White, “This is where Osama Bin Laden got his start – working for the CIA, training Afghan mujahideen inside the Pakistani border with Afghanistan and they set up a bunch of madrasas where people would be indoctrinated to the most fanatical Islamist ideology, and then they would be sent back into Afghanistan as terrorists to destabilize the Afghan regime – and this is what eventually produced the Soviet invasion in a debilitating war that helped destabilize the Soviet Union. This has actually been confessed to a French magazine by Zbigniew Brzezinski. who was Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser at the time.”

By stealth they arrived. Under cover of night, they pounced. They hacked their way into unsuspecting homes. The once sleepy village, who had heard of these dreadful pirates, plunderers — saw their prized possessions, their women and children violated and dragged off. If they lived, they didn’t live to see their loved ones again.
1,100 years ago, people shuddered at the thought of them. They are much more sophisticated these days. And they don’t arrive by snekkje anymore. Read the rest of this entry »

Others were persecuted and killed by the Nazis, but only the Jews were to be annihilated.
Never had the appearance of a word on a page so shocked me. It just made no sense. Those English letters, in that order, simply didn’t belong there.
It was nearly twenty years ago, in the library of a Jewish day school in Providence where I was teaching at the time. The word was “Holocaust” and it so discombobulated me because the book I had opened had been published in the late 1800s.
Even stranger, it was an English translation (likely the first one) of the Mishna, the backbone of the Talmud.
After a moment’s reflection on that fact, I realized I hadn’t gone mad. In context, the word was how the translator had rendered the Hebrew word “olah” – a sacrifice in the times of Jerusalem’s Holy Temple that, unlike all other offerings, was burnt in its entirety on the altar, without any portion set aside for human consumption. “Holo” in Greek means “entirely”; and “caust” means “burnt.”
Indeed, whoever first applied the word to what occurred on the European continent over the years 1939-1945 may well have chosen it because of its Jewish source. After all, the Third Reich aimed to rid the world of Jews, considering them the ultimate, mortal enemy of civilization. And, when all was tragically said and done, Hitler and his helpers in fact succeeded in murdering nearly two out of every three European Jews – if not an olah, staggeringly, devastatingly close.
Others, to be sure, were persecuted and killed by the Nazis too: Romani (Roma and Sinti peoples), political dissidents, criminals of various sorts, physically and mentally disabled people, Jehova’s Witnesses, homosexuals, Poles and Slavs.
But the “Endlösung” – the “Final Solution” – was for “der Judenfrage” – “the Jewish Question.” There was no “Romani Question” or “Homosexual Question.” The Nazis hated many types of people and for a variety of reasons, but they singled out only one group of people for utter destruction.

Well. In response to a post I put up the other day, entitled The Aktions of George Soros; Holocaust Survivor, we had an auspicious visitor. I had no idea a coupla small blogs would attract the attention of such a visible man, or his SFM director of communications, Mr. Michael Vachon.
I made it clear in the original comments that the continuation of the discussion must be in the form of a post, both being simply too long for a comments section. Mr. Soros’ father Trivalder Schwartz, can be found at the following site: Preview of Masquerade by Tivadar (Schwartz) Soros.

I have to recommend yet another of Tamar Yonah’s shows, this one entitled Who Runs the World, featuring Kevin Abrams. Abrams has an informative site Slave Ship America which offers a free online version of his book, entitled The Pink Swastika: The Homosexual Roots of Nazism.
This book makes a strong case for rising homosexuality and the subsequent hyper-militarism of the society in question, dating back to the Greeks and earlier. Apparently, one ideal the Nazis were interested in resurrecting was the machismo society of ancient Greece, which valued masculinity, despising all that was feminine, only taking wives for the purpose of pro-creation. The book is an interesting read, making an excellent case that most of the rising and subsequently powerful Nazi officers were homosexuals. In fact, according to Abrams’ research, Kristallnacht was partially an effort to burn records at a sexual research center which had thousands of “confessions” by these men on record. They did not wish those confessions to become public, as the German population at large would have been disaffected. It was perpetrated under cover the larger destruction of Jewish property and lives.
It is true that homosexuals were also persecuted by the Nazis, but according to Adams’ research, this was an expression of internecine rivalries as well as a rejection of effeminate male homosexuality, which was rejected.
From page 37 of the book:
“Famous events in Nazi history are also linked to homosexuality; events such as the burning of the German Reichstag in 1932, the 1938 pogrom called Kristallnacht, and the 1944 attempt on Hitler’s life. Even the enduring image of Nazi book-burning, familiar to us from newsreels of the 1930s, was directly related to the homosexuality of Nazi leaders. The first such incident occurred four days after Hitler’s Brownshirts broke into Magnus Hirschfeld’s Institute for Sexual Research in Berlin on May 6, 1933. On May 10 the Nazis burned thousands of books and files taken in that raid. The Institute had extensive records on the sexual perversions of numerous Nazi leaders, many of whom had been under treatment there prior to the beginning of the Nazi regime. Treatment at the Sex Research Institute was required by the German courts for persons convicted of sex crimes. Ludwig L. Lenz, who worked at the Institute at the time of the raid but managed to escape with his life, later wrote of the incident: Why was it then, since we were completely non-party, that our purely scientific Institute was the first victim which fell to the new regime? The answer to this is simple…We knew too much. It would be against medical principles to provide a list of the Nazi leaders and their perversions [but]…not ten per cent of the men who, in 1933, took the fate of Germany into their hands, were sexually normal…Our knowledge of such intimate secrets regarding members of the Nazi Party and other documentary material — we possessed about forty thousand confessions and biographical letters — was the cause of the complete and utter destruction of the Institute of Sexology. “

I had a visit from a Holocaust denier recently at my humble little blog. He posted a comment along with a link The Holocaust for Dummies.
I checked it out. One of the factoids presented was on the question of the authenticity of Anne Frank’s diary. Supposedly, it couldn’t be real, because the diary was written with a ball point pen, which was not invented in time for little Anne to use it to write up her experiences of being hidden in an attic in Amersterdam with her family for much of the war. A neighbor ratted them out and Anne was then sent to Westerbork transit camp, then to Auschwitz death camp, and ultimately she was murdered in the much more horrible (if you can imagine) death camp of Bergen-Belsen, shortly before liberation. Only her father Otto survived, found the diary in the attic and had it published.
Back to my Holocaust revisionist/denier visitor — I did some checking on one of the “factoids” which this person apparently believes, from the above cited link. Indeed, the ball point pen was not invented until 1945.
Score one for the Holocaust Revisionist/Denier.
The reason why a soul must be dismissive of the suffering of millions of Jews, Gypsies, Catholics and other innocents is the subject of another post. Or maybe I’ll leave it up to someone else who cares to wade through that dark world.
Anne Frank used a fountain pen. The first practical pen was patented in 1884.
at “The Fountain Pen Network” I found the following thread —
As Father Patrick Dubois, a Catholic priest who researches the Einstatzgruppen portion of the Holocaust says, there are no Holocaust deniers/revisionists in Eastern Europe. They know it happened.
Holocaust deniers/ revisionists are fond of wondering aloud, “Why are honest questions regarding the truth of the Holocaust always met with charges of antisemitism?” One response: Uncovering Certain Mischievous Questions About the Holocaust by Berel Lang. There many excellent articles on the topic of Holocaust denial/revisionism at the US Holocaust Memoria Museum website.
In response to my Holocaust revisionist/history buff type visitor, your credibility has just been shot down. On to better things for me.

According to Father Patrick Desbois, estimates of how many Jews were murdered during the Holocaust may have to be revised upwards by as much as 1.5 million more.
Audio: Subjugation – Now and Then (Second Half of Show) Cnaan Lipshitz talks with Yishai Fleisher about Father Patrick Dubois (sic), a Catholic clergyman who is uncovering the horrors of the Ukrainian and Polish role in the Holocaust. The first half covers how the Israeli government turns a blind eye to illegal Arab building, while watching, harassing and tearing down so-called “illegal” building by Jews, on JNF land.
Uncovering the Past by Marisa Buchanan, also covers the Ukranian massacres of Jews. Father Debois’ research is bringing new facts to the full light of day. The comments following this article are as interesting as the article itself as many survivors and children of survivors write a bit of their stories. There are titles to books, personal memoirs and links as well.
Then, there is Father Desbois’ site, Memoir de Shoah. I put it in my blogroll, under Jewish History, since I anticipate reading the site thoroughly and referring to it in future posts.
Holocaust by Bullets is another link on the topic of the important work done by Father Desbois, published by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
For anyone who wants to assist Holocaust survivor’s directly, click Survivor Mitzvah, found in the comments at the MSNBC article.
A book recommendation within those same comments: The Unbearable Light of Being by Jonathan Safran Foer.
Einsatzgruppen murders are discussed extensively in Yaffa Eliach’s well researched book, There Once Was a World. I’m not completely clear on this, but I’m guessing the Einsatzgruppen murders are a distinct, though related subject, since the research done by Father Desbois is considered cutting edge. His work currently centers in the Ukraine, but he hopes to continue this research in every country that was occupied by the Nazis during WWII. May HKB”H give him the strength.
Update 27 May 2009: I just read the front page of Father Desbois site Memoir de Shoah. He is researching the Einsatzgruppen murders.
Many people Father Desbois interviewed didn’t speak up until now, because they still live in daily fear of retribution by either the German or Russian government. As he has noted, the trauma of eithe participating or witnessing the horrid brutality of this part of the Holocaust has frozen many of these people in time. For them, the Holocaust never ended.
Another resource worth considering are the self-published memoirs of Lorissa Holt entitled “I Remember . . . A Memoir of Nazi Invasion, Forced Exile and Concentration Camp.” They can be obtained by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Huffington Post has a lengthy piece on the work of Father Desbois as well. Seems no one can make up their minds how his name is spelled.

Sultan Knish says it better than I ever could — here’s a sample:
“If history repeats itself again, then Obama will be able to kill millions of Jews without firing a single shot or making a single hateful statement. He will
simply keep the boot on Israel while extending a hand to those who would destroy it. The Holocaust will have been successfully outsourced, the lead buried and the dead countless. We have seen the Reactionary Holocaust. Now we may live to see the Progressive Holocaust. Or we may not.”

I’ve recently 2 or 3 good stories there in the last couple of weeks. I guess they figured out I wasn’t paying attention.. — Ellie

WARSAW (AFP) – Sixty-five years ago Waclaw Sobczak hid a message in a bottle between the bricks of a wall in a building of the Nazi German Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, a last sign of life as he prepared to die.
“I put the bottle in the wall,” Sobczak, 84, who survived Auschwitz but still bears the ID number — 145664 — the Nazis tattooed on his forearm, told AFP via telephone from his home in Wrabczyn, western Poland.
“It was an attempt to leave a trace of our existence as we thought we were going to die,” said Sobczak, sent to Auschwitz in 1943 as a slave labourer.
The note in the bottle written September 20, 1944 included Sobczak’s name and Auschwitz ID number along with those of five other fellow Poles and one Frenchman, all Auschwitz slaves at the time aged 18 to 20.
It was found in April by chance by workers demolishing a wall in what is now a school, but was part of the death camp during World War II.
Since, it has emerged that three of the men on the list are still alive.
“We were taught how to be masons by engineers and master masons, primarily French Jews,” said Karol Czekalski, 83, another of the Poles named on the list, which was formally handed over to the Auschwitz-Birkenau museum in southern Poland, this month.
“From the spring of 1944 some of the apprentices were deemed ready to work,” he added. “They joined the ‘Luftschutzbunkerbau’ responsible for building anti-air raid bunkers.”

Yet another refutation of the false claims of Mahmud Ahmadinejad. The Arab world is as guilty as any of the nations of the world in driving the Jewish people to the inevitable conclusion that we had to reclaim our sovereignty in our historical homeland. The proof is so easy to find and would be admissible in any court of competent jurisdiction.

I have been watching Ahmadinejad carefully, in several settings. Though the man says outrageous things, his manner is not that of a madman. I mean, watch Hitler…the ranting and raving should have been the first clue. I can’t decide if he is delusional, naive and/or grossly misinformed (perhaps a stooge set up by other more powerful men within Iran) or a skillful liar.

Once again Arutz Sheva has outdone themselves. I encourage everyone observing this solemn day, Holocaust Remembrance Day, to select some educational programs, radio shows, or to read articles at Arutz Sheva on this most serious and important topic. They have the best on the net on this subject, in my opinion.
The one radio show I’ve listened to today is hosted by Ben Bresky, who filled in for Tamar Yonah on the weekend edition, April 19th. The first segment covered John Demjanjuk, a convicted Nazi war criminal. The Israeli standard for the death penalty is much higher than America’s, “beyond all doubt” rather than “beyond a reasonable doubt”. Thus, Demjanjuk couldn’t be sentenced to the death penalty in Israel, but his conviction as a Nazi war, as Ivan the Terrible of Sobibor and Treblinka, stands. His conviction as a Nazi war criminal stands in the United States as well.
Demjanjuk currently resides in the Seven Hills area of Cleveland, Ohio, a reputedly Nazi sympathizer hold-out, with a high Ukrainian immigrant population. Certainly not all residents in this area sympthize with the likes of John (Ivan) Demjanjuk, but Ukranian words of symathy can be heard in this area — words admitting knowledge of this man’s guilt, words of support for Ivan the Terrible of Sobibor and Treblinka. Germany is seeking his extradition.
The second segment of the radio show covers restitution of Polish and other Eastern European property to disenfranchised Jewish owners or their heirs, who lost their property during the Holocaust.
The link given for more information is Polish Legacy. Victims and their heirs are successfully prosecuting these property cases and winning back ownership of their property. Make the criminals pay for their deeds. Money can’t be accepted for the murder of a human being, but certainly property crimes can be prosecuted and restitution can be made.
Justice, properly executed, serves as a significant deterrent to future would-be thieves and murderers.

The philosophy of Epicurus is commonly summed up in the phrase “Eat, drink, and be happy, for tomorrow we die.” Though that passage is actually an amalgamation from Ecclesiastes (8:15) and Isaiah (22:13), it’s one way of interpreting Epicurian teachings. The Obama administration superficially clings to pretensions of fiscal responsibility, but in reality, pecuniary hedonists run amok in the halls of the White House. Freehandedness in the “New Age of Responsibility” is prevaricated away by fingerpointing- “…we’re inheriting very knotty problems…”, for example. All budgetary ills are tossed at the feet of the Bush administration. That excuse is quickly losing its bite, as evidenced by his latest economic speech, entitled “A New Foundation”, at Georgetown University. He slipped and slid into a particularly important admission.
The speech itself was fairly standard campaign fare, replete with logically fallacious appeals to unnamed economic authorities and one-sided assignation of responsibility. Particularly troubling was his riff on the Hippocratic Oath in reference to preemptive nationalization:
