A bit about the school: “ALI IBN ABI TALIB SCHOOL strives to preserve the culture and languages of the international Muslim community by seedling into the children a pride in their heritage. We put a great emphasis on Qur’anic teaching and a proper Islamic conduct. As well we enable children to master the Arabic language to provide access to the original sources ofIslamic knowledge.” Oooo! That’s nice and MultiCulty.

Last night, free speech suffered a setback in Ottawa, Canada and tyranny notched a win. The Free Thinking Film Society had scheduled a screening of the new Clarion Fund film, “Iranium,” this evening at the Library and Archives of Canada in downtown Ottawa, the Canadian capital. The film is a documentary featuring a slate of Iran experts discussing the threat of the Iranian nuclear weapons program. Unfortunately, all it took was the reported telephone threat of protests from the local Iranian Consulate to call in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, evacuate the building, and cancel the event.

Well, it appears to be official that 12 Canadian jihadists have been training in NW Pakistan’s agency of North Waziristan after spending a number of months fighting against NATO forces in Afghanistan. The stint in Pakistan is apparently for “further training” …which I would guess means the kind of training that will make them ready for the trip home to Canada to wage war there. The report is that these 12 were recruited out of Canada by al Qaeda.

Three synagogues, Jewish school and daycare vandalized in Montreal Yahoo

MONTREAL – Montreal police believe attacks against five Jewish institutions in the city on the weekend could be related.

Const. Raphael Bergeron says three synagogues, and a Jewish school and daycare located in the west-end areas of Cote St. Luc and Hampstead Montreal-West, had windows broken.

He says the attacks took place sometime between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

No arrests have been made.

Bergeron says police believe the same suspect or suspects were behind all the attacks.

Police have no eyewitnesses but say they will examine surveillance video from one of the premises or from nearby businesses.

The Neo-Nazis and Islamists marched together against Israel in Calgary this past weekend.

The neo-Nazi Aryan Guard are the people holding the defaced Israeli flag. Apparently, their hatred of Israel and Jews seemed to temporarily supersede their hatred of other groups, who they marched with in Calgary this past weekend. (Flickr via Kate)

Critics of Israel are often quick to insist that they’re not anti-Semitic—just anti-Zionist, anti-“occupation,” or something along those lines. But not these guys: at a protest against Israel in downtown Calgary on the weekend, the Nazi group, the Aryan Guard, showed up to march alongside the Muslims. Of course, the Aryan Guard is honest enough to admit they just plain hate Jews, not bothering to strain themselves with arguments of nuance. They fit right in on Saturday with their posters of Israeli flags defaced with the accusation “Terror State.” As Darcey at Dust My Broom notes, the 150 “anti-racists” who came out in force to protest an Aryan Guard march in downtown Calgary last year didn’t complain this time. In fact, they marched right along with the Aryans, united under the swastika: the Arabs and Communists labeling the Jewish State a “Nazi” regime; the skinheads hoping to resurrect the Real McCoy.

Event organizer Shadi Abuid—who last made news a few years back as a university student when he brought to Calgary Norman Finkelstein, the popular anti-Israel author of “The Holocaust Industry”—told Canwest Global he was impressed with the “various groups uniting under one voice.”
