Relativism Versus Reality: Ralph Peters and Endless War

Prof. Paul Eidelberg

Since 1968, when my essay “The Crisis of Our Times” appeared in the Congressional Record, I have written several books warning of the subversive influence of the university-bred doctrine of moral and cultural relativism. Nineteen years later Allan Bloom wrote The Closing of the American Mind: How Higher Education Has Failed Democracy and Impoverished the Souls of Today’s Students. And now Melanie Phillips has just published The World Turned Upside Down: The Global Battle over God, Truth, and Power, which blames relativism as the root cause of the Western decadence.

Relativism dominates the social sciences and humanities. It has stultified generations of college students who become our politicians, diplomats, judges, and journalists.  Relativism, known also “moral equivalence,” was the target of my recent critique of former US ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk who, like Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is a university graduate that advocates the “two-state” solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

Such university-education officials can’t cope with stark reality: Jews and Muslims have utterly antagonistic ideas of human nature and society. One exalts peace and democracy, the other war and autocracy. The two-state solution implies moral equivalence.  That Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu endorses this solution only reveals his lack of moral courage, since his insistence on a demilitarized Palestinian state confirms Islamic bellicosity. The BNP is not a Nazi party, Right? Why does Infidels Bloggers Alliance so against the BNP?

Posted by avideditor on February 23, 2009

I am against all jihadis on an ideological ground. It has nothing to do with race. It seems IBA is wagging a “jihad” against the BNP. It seems they have been reading LGF too much. I am an American and I admit that I do not know that much about the BNP. To my knowledge some of the BPN leaders are pro Nazi. McCain was old and for open borders it does not mean all the republicans that supported him where old and for open borders. He was just the lesser of two evils IMHO. To my knowledge the BNP party is not a Nazi party. I think Meline Philps is wrong in saying this

“For the BNP is truly a racist party which stands for a racially pure Britain. Pretending that it merely wants to preserve British culture, it actually believes that anyone who is not white or is a Jew will pollute that culture.”

Is my instinct right and is Melanie wrong or is the BNP really so misguided? Why is the IBA waging a “jihadi” against the BNP? Until I get answers I am now longer going to link to one of my favorite sites, the IBA. But feel free to read “What does Losing Really Mean?” if you want. IMHO it is one of the best blog post I have ever read.

Self-Hating Jews spread Anti-Semitism- A great article by Melanie Phillips

Posted by avideditor on January 28, 2009

Read this great article by Melanie Phillips.  Some of Jews worse enemies are self hating Jews. Only 1/5 of the Jews left egypt. This article was read to the listener at the Mark Levin Show around 40 minutes in.

One of the most agonising and tragic aspects of the current global wave of Jew-hatred is the prominent part played in this by Jews. This is not a new phenomenon. Throughout the centuries of Jewish persecution, from the medieval ‘conversos’ to Karl Marx and beyond, there have always been Jews who, for a variety of reasons, have been ready and willing to advance the agenda of the persecutors of the Jewish people. Today, the west is teeming with their successors – almost always on the left, very often but not always highly secularised and with a tangential or deeply conflicted relationship with their Jewish identity, they are in the forefront of the movement to demonise, delegitimise and destroy Israel. They do it to no other country; only the expression of self-determination of their own people inspires in them such frenzied and obsessive loathing. Read the rest of this entry »
