Netanyahu’s Treachery and Self-Incrimination

By Dr. Paul Eidelberg

On August 31, 2010, at 8:12 PM Israeli time, it was reported that a passing vehicle fired on an Israeli car, killing 2 men and 2 women (one pregnant) on Route 60 in the Hebron Hills near the ancient holy Jewish city of Hebron.  Nevertheless, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu persists in meeting with Mahmoud Abbas, the leader of these murderers, in Washington, D.C.  The  murderous charade goes on.

Mr. Netanyahu boasted on various occasions after the May 1996 elections that that no one expected him to (1) accept the Oslo Accords as a basis for the “peace process”; meet with Yasser Arafat; and (3) withdraw from Hebron.  Ponder the significance of this remarkable statement or confession.  This self-incriminating statement reveals his autocratic as well as arrogant character.  For if no one, in his own words, expected him to take the three steps mentioned above, it then follows that Mt. Netanyahu betrayed those who elected him Israel’s Prime Minister!

That he could boast before the nation about his utterly unexpected adherence to the Oslo Accords reveals his contempt for public opinion.  The moral obtuseness underlying his arrogant statement that no one expected him to genuflect to Oslo—hence, to become Yasser Arafat’s lackey—is symptomatic of Israel’s undemocratic political culture.

But what is more, Mr Netanyahu pulled the same sort political deception in the February 2009 election.  During the campaign for that election he said nothing about his stand on the “two state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; in other words, he was mum about his position regarding a Palestinian state.  He knew very well that had he candidly supported Palestinian statehood, he would lose a decisively significant percentage of votes from the nationalist camp.  (Bear in mind that his Likud Party won 27 seats to Kadima’s 28.)

It is in this light that we are to understand his momentous speech of June 14, 2009 at Bar-Ilan University, where, without prior cabinet or Knesset debate or public discussion, he unilaterally supported the establishment of a Palestinian state on Israel’s heartland, Judea and Samaria.  That he again displayed contempt for public opinion was confirmed by a poll commissioned by IMRA (Independent Media Review and Analysis) in August 2009.

The poll found strong disagreement to Netanyahu’s recent decisions among those who voted for Netanyahu’s Likud party in the most recent election. Seventy percent of Likud voters said they opposed plans to freeze Jewish construction in Judea, Samaria and parts of Jerusalem, while 73 percent said the government should grant authorization to so-called “illegal outposts” instead of seeking to demolish them. This clearly implies that the public overwhelming opposes a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria,

Pollsters also discovered that despite overwhelming media criticism of Minister Moshe Yaalon, who termed the Peace Now group “a virus,” the public tends to agree with Yaalon’s remarks. Fifty-eight percent of those surveyed expressed agreement with Yaalon, and said that Peace Now has caused significant damage to the state of Israel.  Only 28 percent of those surveyed did not agree that Peace Now has harmed the state.

Returning to Netanyahu, he is a disgrace to the nation, and there are no constitutional means of removing him from office.  This is the humiliating consequence of living in the pseudo-democratic state of Israel, whose ruling elites—across the political spectrum—have a vested interest in leaving in its present form despite its demonstrable ineptitude and corruption.

From Israel National News

by Gil Ronen and Hillel Fendel

Palestinian terrorists murdered four Jewish civilians in a shooting attack at the Bani Naim junction just south of Hevron Tuesday evening. Emergency service paramedics could do nothing to save the victims whose bodeis were riddled with bullets. The terrorists reportedly made sure their victims were dead by shooting them from close range after the initial fusillade.

The victims are a husband and wife, parents of ten, and two passengers. A Zaka volunteer who arrived on the scene broke down in tears when he neared the car and discovered that one of the victims was his wife. The IDF is combing the area, searching for the terrorists.

(IsraelNN.com) Rabbi Meir Avshalom Chai, 40, of Shavei Shomron, was mortally wounded in the head Thursday afternoon when terrorists fired at the car he was traveling in, between the Jewish communities of Shavei Shomron and Einav in Samaria, west of Shechem, according to preliminary reports. He left behind seven children, the youngest of which is two months old and the oldest of which is 17.

The slain rabbi’s funeral will leave the Shamgar funeral home in Jerusalem at 10:00 Friday and proceed to the Mount of Olives.

A spokesperson for Shavei Shomron said that Rabbi Meir Chai worked as an educator at the local school and kindergarten, and that the children were very attached to him. He lived in the community for 14 years and was considered a wise Torah scholar, modest and well-loved.

A large force of Israeli soldiers and police has started searching for the terrorists, who escaped the scene.

Concessions to Obama Blamed for Enabling Murder of Meir Chai

Posted by Glezele Vayne on December 24, 2009

BS”D

(IsraelNN.com) Samaria Regional Council Head Gershon Mesika said following the terrorist murder of Rabbi Meir Chai from Samaria Thursday: “After a long period of security quiet, the main roadblock between Shavei Shomron and Tulkarm was recently opened, despite our warnings. The government of Israel preferred ‘the Palestinian fabric of life’ to its citizens’ rights.”

The IDF’s removal of roadblocks is widely perceived as a gesture toward US President Barack Obama, who has pressured Israel to make Arabs’ “fabric of life” as comfortable as possible.

Last Thursday, soldiers removed the concrete cubes and metal gate that made up the roadblock north of Shechem, near Shavei Shomron, despite pleas by Samaria residents to the IDF not to remove it. The removal means that traffic between Shechem and Tulkarm now flows without any security monitoring. Another IDF checkpoint on the road, at Beit Iba at the northern exit from Shechem, was removed several months ago.

Upon receiving news of the attack, MK Yaakov Katz (Ketzaleh) of the National Union said that “this is the first payment of the the ‘at any price’ of the Shalit deal, even before the deal has been carried out. The tracks lead to Netanyahu who is willing to release arch-murderers but freezes the lives of Jews and opens roadblocks, thus encouraging the terror he is surrendering to.”

Washington DC Training Terrorists to Fight Israel

Posted by Glezele Vayne on July 23, 2009

Arutz Sheva’s Yehudah HaKohen of the Zionist Freedom Alliance gave an interesting talk/interview, to which I recently listened.

Audio: Demographic Scare Tactics & Arab Refugees

Notes taken as I listened, with later enhancements due to a big of poking around on google —

Obama is setting up a permanent command post in Israel. He will be assigning four deputies to this permanent command post, who will be directly accountable to Washington DC.

Mara Rudman
– Senior Fellow, Center for American Progress

Fred Hoff – Long time advocate for surrender of Golan to the Syrians

David Hale – Architect of American policy to rebuild Hezbollah infested Lebanese army

Lt. Gen’l Keith Dayton – In charge of training a PA force, has stated that this army will turn on Israel if Israel refuses to expel Jews from Judea and Samaria.

Dayton insists that the training these men receive by the U.S. is not designed to be turned against Israel. Okay, but read this:

Also consider the words of Muhammad Dahlan, senior Fatah operative:

2009 Fiscal Year Supplemental Appropriates Bill
has allocated $109 million towards builing and training the Palestinian Authority “security forces” (Fatah Army which will be loyal to Mahmoud Abbas.

Congress is currently evaluating an Administrative request to direct another $100 million towards this Fatah Army in 2010.

According to Caroline Glick, General Jim Jones, who is Obama’s current security advisor, and was Condoleeza Rice’s special advisor on Arab Israeli issues, authored a report which recommended an assessment of Israel’s minimal security needs in relation to Judea & Samaria for the purposes of limiting support to Israel in fulfilling those necessary minimal interests. He rejected all Jewish claims to Judea and Samaria and was viewed as very hostile to the Jewish people.

Under Mitchell and Jones, according to a report in Yediot Acharonot, the US is building an apparatus designed to prevent Israel from exercising independent judgement about tactical  and strategic challenges, while denying Israel’s ability to secure her interests without US involvement and consent.

Obama’s High Commissioner by Caroline Glick (cites the Yediot Acharonot article)

To quote Yehudah HaKohen: “US foreign agents will be stationed in Israel, will report to Jones & Mitchell, who will report to Obama.”  Furthermore, HaKohen notes that George Mitchell will be acting in this capacity, if not in name, as a foreign colonial governor.

Dhimmitude in Eretz Israel

Posted by Glezele Vayne on July 8, 2009

BS”D

“Yet perhaps most galling of all to effendi (Arab landlords) leadership was the Jew who would settle the land. This was not the dhimmi Jew — cowering to survive, as in Arab lands — but a person who commanded equal treatment. The outrage which that insistence created, among those weaned on the tradition of Muslim supremacy, would infect the multi-ethnic Arabic-speaking Muslim workers of Palestine as well: for centuries Jews had been objects to oppress and despise.” (From Time Immemorial by Joan Peters, pg 172)

Fayyad Promises Rights for Jews in PA State

by Maayana Miskin

(IsraelNN.com) During an appearance Saturday in Aspen, Colorado, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad promised that Jews who choose to live in a future Palestinian Authority-led Arab state in Judea and Samaria will be granted equal rights. His statements stood in contrast to the PA’s current policies regarding Jewish residents of the region.

Fayyad’s statements were made as part of a question and answer session during the Aspen Ideas Festival. The event was covered by the Aspen Daily News.

“The kind of state that we want to have, that we aspire to have, is one that would definitely espouse high values of tolerance, co-existence, mutual respect and deference to all cultures, religions,” Fayyad said in response to a question about the possibility for a Jewish minority to remain among residents of a PA Arab state.

Jews who remain in Judea and Samaria if Israel withdraws “will enjoy these rights and certainly will not enjoy any less rights that Israeli Arabs enjoy now in the state of Israel,” he added.

The promise of equal rights came in response to a question from former CIA Director James Woolsey, who asked if Israeli Jews who chose to live in Judea and Samaria would be given the rights granted to Arab citizens of Israel. Among those rights are the right to vote, freedom of worship, free speech, “and most importantly, be able to go to sleep at night without worrying someone is going to kick down the door and kill them,” according to Woolsey.

Fayyad’s statements in favor of co-existence and equality sharply contradict current PA policy regarding Jews in Judea and Samaria. The PA considers all Jewish communities in the area to be illegal, and has demanded that all be dismantled and their residents removed from the region.

Fatah Forces Jews out of Jerusalem Home; Arabs Destroy It

by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

(IsraelNN.com) Arabs destroyed a Jewish home in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in Jerusalem last week after forcing a Jewish contractor to leave. Both the Arabs and Jews claim that police were involved, but a police spokesman said he knows of no activity in the area.

The Bethlehem-based Maan news agency, which is closely affiliated with the Fatah-led Palestinian Authority, reported Wednesday morning that senior Fatah leaders prevented Jews from entering the home. The Fatah officials, in the presence of police, reportedly convinced the Jews to leave the property, allegedly owned by an Arab since the 1940s.

Aryeh King, whose Israel Land Fund is heavily involved in the Jewish presence in eastern Jerusalem, said that the incident actually took place two weeks ago and that the police evicted the Jews.

Abbas Rejects Talks with Israel; Abdullah Warns: War or Peace

Posted by Glezele Vayne on May 11, 2009

BS”D

by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu

(IsraelNN.com)

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has rejected talks with Israel at this time, according to the Hebrew-language Maariv newspaper, apparently waiting for the outcome of next week’s meeting between U.S. President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. Last week, the Prime Minister offered to return to the negotiating table immediately and without any pre-conditions.

The Arab world is expecting the U.S. to pressure Israel into specifically accepting the “two-state solution” and halting all construction in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. The discussions in Washington are being billed as crucial to the future of the Middle East.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has maintained the PA must become more stable economically and politically before a new Arab state can be created alongside the Jewish State, a concept that PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has rejected.

Israel fears that the objective of the Arab world is to allow the return of several million Arabs who claim to be descendants of former residents in the country. The result would be the domination of Arabs in Israel.

Abbas has conducted a determined single-minded four-year campaign to win international backing for a new PA state based on the Saudi Arabian 2002 Peace Plan that calls for Arab immigration and a new Arab country to be established on all of the land of Judea, Gaza and Samaria, including the Old City of Jerusalem.

The PA includes 250,000 Jews in Jerusalem neighborhoods which were restored to Israel in the Six-Day War in 1967. The municipality annexed the neighborhoods, including Gilo, Talpiot, Ramot and French Hill, into the capital more than 20 years ago, but the international community has not accepted the change.

Oy vey. All this tsuris. Az mah la’asot?

Posted by Glezele Vayne on May 6, 2009

BS”D

For my non-Jewish readers, that translates something like, “Holey Moley, all this trouble.” Now slap your hand on your forehead, gasp a bit and say “So, now what do we do?” There a little Yiddish and Hebrew lesson all in one, complete with a bit of Middle Eastern drama.

Okay, so here’s some things to do that might help. I have just learned that the phones in Washington, DC are ringing off the walls with supporters of the two-state solution (i.e. the “piece plan”).  Sidenote: This is just the PLO’s “phased” plan of destruction, outlined in their covenant which, BTW, has not been changed one iota.

The fact that the phones are ringing off the walls supporting the two-state suicide plan does not mean there are more detractors of Israel than there are supporters in America. The government, eh…kind of wishy-washy, but the people are known for their overwhelming support of Israel. There are many Americans who are misinformed, due to a lack of accurate information on the MSM, but I believe this phone ringing thing I am hearing about is mostly evidence of a difference between liberal and conservative lifestyles.

Liberals (the hard left, not old school liberals) are overwhelmingly pro-Pali, (they like anything totalitarian, but that’s a whole ‘nuther book) and politics is pretty much their religion. Conservatives are usually busy with family and true religious obligations, and are not front and center 110% focused on politics.

So, we need to plotz the kids in front of a video game or a movie for a few minutes, catch our breath, get ourselves to the phone or on the computer and make ourselves heard. The vast majority of Americans are hearty supporters of Israel, but our senators and representatives won’t act on our convictions unless we tell them what they are. I know, they follow polls on everything else, so why not this? Maybe the polls aren’t accurate? I’m being optimistic. One letter, email or phone call, in their eyes, usually represents 20 people, because typically, only 1 out of 20 people bother writing, emailing or calling (leftists excluded).

He  emphasizes that the Fatah is still at war with Israel and it hasn’t changed. Despite the many words uttered by Yasir Arafat regarding the “peace of the brave”, besides the handshake with Yitzhak Raibn, the PA parliament never approved any peace agreement between Israel and the PA.

Jay Shapiro aired a relevant radio show on the 3rd of this month, discussing the basis of the Arab/Israeli conflict. Small portions are a a bit outdated, in that Mr. Shapiro speculates incorrectly (I’m sure he’s disappointed) on how Prime Minister Netanyahu will respond to US pressure for immediate territorial concessions.

Here!! Here!! I’d love to agree with Ketzale. Sadly, all I have to say is:  Read history and welcome to Rome. Not officially of course, only in reality.

“Partner for Peace” threatens violence

Posted by avideditor on May 18, 2008

I found this at Israel Matzav and I don’t think I can say this better myself. So enjoy.

‘Partner for peace’ threatens to resign

‘Moderate’ ‘Palestinian’ PresidentMahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen hasthreatened to resignonce again if a deal is not reached with Israel to give him astatereichlet in the next six months.

Speaking to former Meretz chairman Yossi Beilin on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Sharm e-Sheikh, the PA president said that the next six months were the most crucial and that if no agreement is reached between the Israelis and the Palestinians within that time, there will be no reason for him to continue in his role.

“Israel will not have a better partner than the group leading the PLO today, which believes the Palestinian interest is a historic reconciliation with Israel and a Palestinian state alongside it,” said Abbas, adding that if there is no agreement, “Israel will find itself with no partner at all.”

Abbas went on to say that a deadlock in peace negotiations would likely bring the Middle East back to “the tragedy of 2000 which followed the failure at Camp David,” Army Radio reported.

In other words, Israel should give the ‘Palestinians’ whatever they want or face another intifada. And of course, Shimon Peres’ old poodleimmediately passed on the message.

Abu Mazen’s constant threats to resign remind me of David Frye’s imitation of the late Hubert Humphrey included in this tape from my youth. Enjoy!

Holocaust denier says IDF actions worse than Holocaust

Posted by avideditor on March 3, 2008

What a fool. What is wrong with Israel protecting itself. I can’t believe Israel is wiling to accept him as a peace partner.

Holocaust denier says IDF actions ‘worse than Holocaust’: ”

This is rich.’Moderate‘ ‘Palestinian‘ President Mahmoud Abbas  Abu Mazen, whose thesis denied the Holocaust, says that IDF actions in Gaza against Hamas terrorists are ‘worse than the Holocaust.’

PalestinianAuthority President Mahmoud Abbas labeled Israels actions to counterthe constant firing of rockets into the Gaza Strip ‘worse than theHolocaust.’Abbas said that Israel’s response to the continuousbombardment of western Negev towns by Palestinian terrorists was toosevere, saying that its operations which have left at least 33Palestinians dead on Saturday were unacceptable retaliation to thefiring of rockets.

But there was yet another ‘Palestinian’ leader who had even more explicit comments:

TheFatah head was not the only Palestinian leader to be associating themilitary maneuvers with the Holocaust – exiled Hamas leader KhaledMashaal described the operations as ‘the real Holocaust’ on Saturdayafternoon.’Israeli actions in Gaza since Wednesday is the real Holocaust,’ Mashaal told reporters in Damascus, where he lives in exile. He accused Israel of ‘exaggerating the Holocaust and using it to blackmail the world.’…Healso blamed some European countries, without naming them, for keepingsilent on Israeli attacks against Palestinian civilians.’It isshameful that some Western countries try to clear their conscience withregards to the Holocaust that took place on their own land by beingsilent on the real Holocaust being committed by Israel against thePalestinian people,’ he said.

Europe would have to findits conscience first in order to clear it. Their continued support forthe ‘Palestinians’ proves that.Cross-posted to Israel Matzav.
