Killing Civilians: A Muslim View

Tali Hatuel, her 4 daughters were brutally massacred. Yasir Arafat said she was a terrorist because she lived in Gush Katif. Tali was expecting her 5th baby, a son, who was also murdered.

According to Yasser Arafat’s Palestinian Authority, pregnant Jewish women and young Jewish girls who make their homes in the Gaza Strip are “terrorists,” while the “Palestinians” who murder them are “heroic martyrs.”

On Sunday, two Palestinian Arab gunmen mercilessly shot to death Tali Hatuel, 36, and her four daughters, all under the age of 12. Hatuel’s unborn son was also killed.

But rather than condemn their murder, the Arafat-controlled Voice of Palestine slammed Israel for rocketing a Gaza City Hamas radio station in response. Jerusalem Newswire

Between hyperbole and credibility.

An often-discussed topic of considerable controversy is the notion of how many Muslims support killing civilians as a tactic. Numbers range from a tiny fraction up to 50% of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims.

Those who consider themselves more liberal tend to lean toward the tiny fraction estimate, while conservatives lean toward the larger numbers. Part of what drives the thinking of liberals is their tendency to see things from a more idyllic viewpoint, plus their belief that few people, if any, are evil and that at the core of everyone there is goodness to be found. This view tends to discount the impact of living in a society where virtually every aspect of daily life is under strict adherence to fundamentalism, and where jihad for Allah is considered the single holiest act of a true follower of the faith. The martyr-killer is considered a hero and the martyr’s family is showered with gifts and held in a place of honor among fellow believers.

The foregoing assessment is corroborated by a former Muslim terrorist, Walid Shoebat, who was born and raised in the Middle East, and who spent time in jail for his involvement with jihad. However, in the mid-1990s, he renounced Islam. By doing so he became an “enemy of Islam” and has been living under threat of death ever since. These days, in spite of being under a fatwa, Walid writes books, and speaks at churches, synagogues and numerous other events about Islam and jihad.

One of the reasons there has been considerable debate on this flashpoint topic is that statistics are not readily available. However, recently a report was published providing information which allows some deductive conclusions to be drawn.

The United Nations Security Council issued a statement Monday calling for the creation of a new Arab state in Judea, Samaria and Gaza and the cessation of Jewish development in those same areas. Israel rejected the
The U.N. also specifically called on Israel to cease all further development of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.
involvement of the Security Council in what it sees as a bilateral issue.

The declaration, affirmed by 15 member states, was presented by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Russia currently chairs the Council.

‘Urgent Efforts’ to Create a New Arab State
“The Council reiterates its call for renewed and urgent efforts by the parties and the international community to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East, based on the vision of a region where two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, will live side by side in peace, within secure and recognized borders,” the U.N. Security Council declared.

To that end, the Council encouraged the Quartet – the U.N., the U.S., Russia and the European Union – “to support the parties in their efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East.”

The Council also called for a comprehensive Middle East peace agreement, including between Israel and Syria.

In her comments to the Council, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice added: “This is a moment that should not be lost and that is why the United States and others are redoubling our efforts to achieve a lasting two-state solution.”

A resident stranger, as referred to in the Torah, was one who was willing to abide by Torah law, living in peace among the Jewish people. As for those who would continue harassing the Jewish people within the land, refusing to abide by the Torah, they were indeed to be driven out. Many Arabs living in the disputed territories, and even within the current borders of modern Israel certainly qualify as enemies of the Jewish people, and state exactly that, proudly, repeatedly. These were the Arabs that R’ Kahane said “must go”. If one reads his books, one will find that he made a provision for non-Jews who swore an oath of loyalty to Israel, and were committed to living among the Jewish people in the Land, in peace and according to Jewish Law. These are known as “righteous gentiles” and are honored in the Torah.

There are Druzim, Armenians, Circasions, Christians of all stripes, and Arabs who live in Israel and in the disputed territories that qualify as “righteous gentiles”. Of course, those people would be able to stay. Only the bloodthirsty, the permanently belligerent people must go, and R’ Kahane made that clear in his writings. The MSM did their best to cover that part of R’ Kahane’s agenda. — Ellie Katz

America Moves Towards Abandonment of Israel

Posted by Glezele Vayne on March 18, 2009

That headline certainly took me from my Schijveschuurder high. Here I was, thrilled that the terror victims in Israel were banding together and maybe even getting some results, some respect for all their tremendous suffering.

And that’s still really good, very important.

But this latest Arutz Sheva report by the INN staff is causing no small amount of dismay.

“In an interview on Israel National Radio’s Weekend Edition with host Tamar Yonah, Hagman said.’The Obama administration is no friend to Israel, is no friend to the Jews in America and is no friend to democracy or freedom in America. Just by his very appointments, we can see him filling positions of power with people who are anti-Semitic, who want to see Israel essentially dissolved as a nation, if not by diplomacy, then certainly by war.'”

Sounds like an important interview. I’m going to go have a listen.
