“Narrated ‘Aun bin Abu Juhaifa: My father bought a slave who practiced the profession of cupping. (My father broke the slave’s instruments of cupping). I asked my father why he had done so. He replied, “The Prophet…cursed the picture-makers.””–Sahih Bukhari Volume 3 Book 34 Number 299

“We were with Masruq at the house of Yasar bin Numair. Masruq saw pictures on his terrace and said, “I heard ‘Abdullah saying that he heard the Prophet saying, “‘The people who will receive the severest punishment from Allah will be the picture makers.”–Sahih Bukhari Volume 7 Book 72 Number 834

“Narrated Aisha: Allah’s Apostle said, “The painter of these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them, Make alive what you have created.’ “–Sahih Bukhari Volume 9 Book 93 Number 646

Islam is Philistinism, as we all should be aware…any and all art — any and all cultivated culture, which indicates a lively and civilized society — is haraam according to Sunni madhaheb (while Shi’a madhaheb are notorious for placing suffocating restrictions on art). Rebelling against such dictates is shirk and thus harb against Allah and his “chosen” Ummah. There is no individual in Islam, only a “collective mind” — the Ummat al-Muslimin — in perpetual bondage to a celestial despot and his “anointed” Khalifah and “inspired” ulema. The assertion of an individual’s right to pursue his own self-interest external to the totalitarian fiats of Allah and Rasul’allah is rijs — an abomination, a temptation to or even a manifestation of fitnah and shirk, a hateful thing which must be annihilated at all costs to preserve and protect the Jama’ah from sedition and disunity.

“[Muhammad said:] After me there will be many calamities and much evil behavior. Whoever you see splitting away from the Jama’ah or trying to create divisions among the Ummah of Muhammad, then kill him, for the Hand of Allah is with the Jama’ah, and the Shaitan is with the one who splits away from the Ummah.”–Sunan an-Nasa’i 4025

Ellsworth Toohey on steroids.

“Whoever observes something other than God’s revelations in his judgment not only rejects a particular aspect of Godhead but also claims for himself certain qualities of Godhead. If that is not unbelief, I wonder what is. For what use is a verbal claim of being a believer…when such action denies such a claim?”–“Milestones” by Sayyid Qutb, p. 7

Now, the Japanese are certainly further down the list of conquest and Islamization for the mujahedin, being that they are not Dar al-Ghasab, the Shari’at expressly placing greater immediacy upon returning re-kaffirized land to Muhammadan authority before subduing the never-before-Islamized mushrik nations of the Dar al-Harb…but notice that the Taliban (consistent with the fiqh of the Hanafi madh’hab) invited the Japanese to “revert” to al-Islam following the plea of the Japanese to preserve the Bamiyan Buddhas. Da’wah necessarily precedes Jihad at-Talab; if the specified kuffar do not respond affirmatively to the Da’wah, then they may be slain and plundered with impunity until their vanquishment and cowering in submission as Slaves to Slaves of Allah (as abused and despised dimam, plural of  dhimmi), if not outright Slaves of Allah (Muslimin or mu’minin). The respect demonstrated by the Shinto-Buddhist Japanese mushrikun for what the Taliban can only view as an icon of flagrant and malevolent idolatry (and the persistent efforts of the Japanese government to save the Bamiyan Buddhas at all costs) only served to strengthen the Taliban’s disgust towards the Japanese as kuffar, as moharebin, thus increasing the imaraah government’s enmity towards them, which had already been unquestionably established as a de facto pillar of their deen by the Qur’an and Sunna and accepted tafsirun.

If Israel, Serbia, Macedonia, India, Cyprus, Armenia, Thailand, East Timor, the Philippines et al are consumed by the mujahedin as al-anfal and subsequently “reverted” to waqf status as Dar al-Islam, then fear for Japan, the land of Zen and Urashima Taro…

Japan offered to hide Bamiyan statues, but Taliban asked Japan to convert to Islam instead

Japan offered to hide Afghanistan’s Bamiyan Buddha statues to prevent the Taliban from destroying them, but the hardline regime instead suggested the Japanese convert to Islam, a new memoir says.

Abdul Salam Zaeef, who was Taliban-ruled Afghanistan’s most public face as ambassador to Pakistan, wrote that Japan was the most active country in pressing the regime not to demolish the 1,500-year-old statues in 2001.

He said that an official delegation from Japan, along with a Buddhist group from Sri Lanka, offered to remove the statues piece by piece and reassemble them abroad.

“Another suggestion they had was that they cover the statues from head to toe in a way that no one would recognize they had ever been there, while preserving them underneath,” Zaeef wrote in “My Life With The Taliban,” just published in the United States.

He said that the Japanese told the Afghans that they were forefathers of their religion and should preserve its heritage, but Zaeef said Afghans considered Buddhism “a void religion.”

“Since they saw us as their forefathers and had followed us before, why had they not followed our example when we found the true religion, I asked them,” he wrote.

Defying the intense international appeals, the Taliban spent a month using first anti-aircraft guns and then dynamite to obliterate the Buddha statues, arguing that Islam forbade idolatry.

Zaeef said he believed that the destruction was within Islamic sharia law. But he wrote that the decision had “bad timing,” as it worsened the Taliban’s foreign relations.

The Taliban was ousted months later in a U.S.-led invasion after the Sept 11, 2001 attacks by al-Qaida, which found a haven in Afghanistan. Zaeef was imprisoned at the U.S. camp in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and now lives in Kabul.
