They shall have a curse on them: wherever they are found, they shall be seized and slain (without Mercy).
Twenty-two-year-old Ameena, an acid burns victim, regrets marrying her husband Mohammad Ali, alias Danish, who splashed acid on her face after allegedly suspecting that she had illicit relations with another man. The severe burn injuries have not only disfigured her face, but also damaged both her eyes, compelling her to hide her face behind a veil as her daughters, aged seven and two-and-a-half, are frightened by the sight of their mother’s disfigured face.
Her husband has been temporarily detained by the police, but Ameena fears he may return and attack her two daughters if the concerned authorities let him go scot-free. She has also filed a suit against her husband for dissolution of her marriage, but because Danish possesses her NIC and the couple’s marriage certificate, Ameena fears she may not be able to do so.
According to Ameena, who was addressing a press conference at Madadgaar Helpline’s office on Monday, Danish and his sisters (who also live in their neighbourhood in Federal B-area) attacked her on the afternoon of January 31, 2008 – which was a few days after they learnt that Ameena was expecting her third child that Danish claimed was not his.
“He did not even wait for the third child’s delivery so my daughter could prove that his suspicion was wrong and instead tortured Ameena in order to force her to ‘confess’ that the unborn child is not his. When she started weeping and did not answer, he became aggressive and threw concentrated acid on her face and fled,” wept Kaneez Fatima, who accompanied her daughter at the conference because Ameena was unable to speak.
Ameena cried for help but no one came to rescue her. However, she managed to walk to her mother’s house, who is also Ameena’s next door neighbour. “My daughter fainted at my doorstep following which we rushed her to Civil Hospital’s Burns Ward but by the time we reached, Ameena’s eyes were damaged, as the concentrated acid leaked into her eyes,” said the distressed mother.
Ameena alleged that her husband, who is a balloon-seller, frequently abused her physically and due to the restrictions placed by him, she barely stepped out and his allegations of illicit relations with his friends were baseless. “He is a drug addict and frequently asked me for money. On refusal to do so, he would torture me. I tried complaining about his behaviour to his sisters and family members but they ignored me and said I should get used to his behaviour,” said the mother of two daughters, aged five and two-and-a-half years old.
A complaint has been lodged at the Joharabad Police Station, but the police officials are protecting Danish, taking the plea that he is mentally sick, alleged Advocate Zia Awan, who is also providing legal aid to Ameena. “In a majority of the cases, husbands escape punishment by showing themselves to be ‘psychologically ill’ with the help of the police, which is why an increasing number of burns cases are being reported,” he said.
However, the Station Investigation Officer , Sajid Javed, said Danish’s fate has not been decided yet as investigation is under way. “An interim challan report has been filed in the city court,” he said. Ameena’s case will be heard in the city court on Wednesday, Awan further said.
It may be noted here that the offence of permanent impairing of any organ of the body of another person (by his spouse or any of his blood relations within the prohibited degree of marriage) is defined under Section 299 of Pakistan Penal Code, known as “Ikrah-e-tam”, whereby the offender is liable to imprisonment for a period of ten years. “Since we do not have a law against domestic violence as yet, Danish should be immediately tried under the PPC,” demanded Awan.
However, Ameena says imprisonment would not be enough to ‘teach him a lesson’. “My husband should be hanged to death, so that other men like him do not take advantage of a woman’s vulnerability,” she wept.
I did a search looking for a typical nine year old Pakistani girl and came across this adorable six year old munchkin by the name of Amal. I hesitated as to whether or not to use her in this post, but I think I have done the right thing, such child like beauty can only emphasise the horror of the attack on a poor nine year old mite.
Acid Attack On Nine Year Old Wife
Dhaka – A 24-year-old man was sentenced to death in Bangladesh for throwing acid on his nine-year-old bride, disfiguring and blinding her for life, prosecution lawyers said on Tuesday. A special tribunal in the industrial town of Gazipur, 35km north of the capital Dhaka, handed down the death sentence on Swapan Gazi after a lengthy trial. The tribunal also fined him. The acid attack occurred five years ago after Gazi tried to establish sexual relations with his nine-year-old wife Monira Begum, who refused to go to her husband’s home.
The Acid Survivors Foundation, a charity working for the acid victims, said the use of acid in domestic violence is on the rise in Bangladesh. The victims of acid attacks are usually women and girls.
The foundation also helped pay for treatment of Begum’s scarred face in Spain, while the government of Bangladesh provided her with legal support.
The government recently toughened laws against perpetrators of acid attacks, implementing the possibility of capital punishment for the offence.
Child marriages are banned in Bangladesh under the law, but the practice is nevertheless prevalent mostly in rural villages.

April 7 2009: London , Britain, Fuck head Secretary Jacqui Smith’s department is under fire for allowing two leading terrorist sympathisers to enter Britain.
Both spoke at the House of Commons last week at a pro-Palestinian meeting organised by a far-left Labour MP Jeremy Corbyn.
One is Hussein Al Hajj Hassan, a member of the political wing of Lebanese terror group Hezbollah. The other is Dyab Abou Jahjah, a Belgian Muslim firebrand who has published disgusting anti-Semitic cartoons. One showed Adolf Hitler and 15-year-old Holocaust victim Anne Frank both naked in bed with the caption: “Write that in your diary, Anne”.
A Home Office source said last night Ms Smith had been alerted that Jahjah was on his way and was preparing to ban him. But by the time officials had completed the paperwork he had already arrived. The source said: “If Jahjah puts a foot wrong he will be arrested.”
The failure to keep both men out during the G20 summit comes in the same week she was given a final warning by Gordon Brown in the row over hiring adult films on expenses.
It also comes less than two months after she publicly banned anti-Muslim Dutch MP Geert Wilders from entering the UK.
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling said: “There seems to be absolutely no consistency in the decisions that the Home Secretary is taking.”
Mr Corbyn, who invited Gerry Adams to the Commons at the height of the IRA’s campaign of murder, said he did not regret inviting Jahjah to Parliament. It was a meeting to “promote dialogue.”
April 7 2009: Mogadishu, Somalia — A man who calls himself an American promotes holy war in Somalia in a video posted this week on an Islamic militant Web site.
A U.S. government contractor who tracks extremist propaganda says the footage is the first to show what may be an American with a senior role in al-Shabab, a Somali group the State Department considers a terrorist organization with links to al-Qaida.
The half-hour video features an amateur English-language rap soundtrack and purports to show an operation against Ethiopian troops in Somalia. It appeared on Web sites where al-Qaida and other militant groups often post messages and videos. A caption says it was filmed on July 15, 2008
A tall man with long dark hair and a wide smile who appears to be in his 20s and gives his nom de guerre as “Abu Mansour al-Amriki,” or “the American,” urges Muslims around the world to send their children to replace his group’s fallen fighters.
“If you can encourage more of your children, and more of your neighbors, and anyone around you to send people … to this jihad, it would be a great asset for us,” he says.
Al-Amriki speaks English with a North American accent and reads verses from the Quran in fluent classical Arabic. He appears to be of European or possibly Arab descent but it was impossible to independently confirm his nationality or where the video was filmed.
The man appears in a scrubby rural clearing filled with short trees and dust. There are few identifying markers indicating he is in Somalia, though several of his companions appear to be Somalis.
April 7 2009: Prague Czecko — President Barack Obama is urging the European Union to accept Turkey as a member, saying it would be a positive sign to the Muslim world.
Obama spoke Sunday at a luncheon for leaders of the EU’s 27 nations in Prague. He said the West should seek greater cooperation and closer ties with Islamic nations. He said letting Turkey into the EU would be an important sign of those efforts.
France, Austria and other nations oppose Turkey’s long-running efforts to join the European Union. EU members have urged Turkey to do more to guarantee minority rights, curb powers of its military and pass new rights for trade unions.
Turkey’s population is mostly Muslim. Obama visits there Monday and Tuesday,
Best for every one he stays there
April 7 2009: Rome, Italy. Italian police have found more than 100 immigrants, including 24 Afghan children, living in the sewer system beneath railway stations in Rome. The children range in age from 10 to 15 years and are now being looked after by the city’s social services. They were found when the railway police followed up reports of children living near the city’s stations.
The police say they do not speak Italian and broke into the sewers by removing manhole covers.
The charity Save the Children Italy says that more than 1,000 unaccompanied children arrived in Rome last year from various countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Railway police had been following up reports that groups of homeless immigrants were living in unhygienic conditions in and around Rome’s three main railway stations. Police said the Afghan children appeared to have arrived in the Italian capital as stowaways on board trailer trucks arriving from Turkey and Greece. Children were sleeping at night in sewers under the railway station to shelter from the cold, police said.
The number of foreign minors arriving in Italy has risen substantially over the past five years, according to children’s charities.
Roman police also recently discovered groups of illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and China living crammed 20 or more to a room.
As fast as the authorities find them proper accommodation, their places are taken by new arrivals
Some 200 mosques in Islam’s holiest city, Mecca, point the wrong way for prayers, reports from Saudi Arabia say.
All mosques have a niche showing the direction of the most sacred Islamic site, the Kaaba, an ancient cube-like building in Mecca’s Grand Mosque.
But people looking down from recently built high-rises in Mecca found the niches in many older mosques were not pointing directly towards the Kaaba.
Some worshippers are said to be anxious about the validity of their prayers. There have been suggestions that laser beams could be used to make an exact measurement.
Tawfik al-Sudairy, Islamic affairs ministry deputy secretary, downplayed the problem in remarks quoted by the pan-Arab newspaper al-Hayat.
“There are no major errors but corrections have been made for some old mosques, thanks to modern techniques,” he said.”In any case, it does not affect the prayers.
