CAIR Fesses UP—They LOVE HAMAS (Hezbollah too)

Posted by avideditor on March 17, 2008

CAIR Fesses UP—They LOVE HAMAS (Hezbollah too): “

I bet they feel better now that they got it off their chests. After years of denial CAIR has finally come out with the truth. They think that Hamas and Hezbollah are in no way terrorist organizations, they are just trying to end the Israeli Terrorism . Watch the video below, the guy holding the microphone is Jawhar Sadallah Badran, a Palestinian resident of Deerfield Beach, Florida–he is also sits on the diversity committee of the Broward County School Board, talk about teaching your children well.

CAIR Comes Clean on Hamas

By Joe Kaufman FrontPageMagazine.com | 3/12/2008

Since the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) was founded in June of 1994, the group has worked hard to conceal its true feelings about Hamas. That is, until now. Video footage taken at a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, rally against CAIR reveals its unabashed support for Hamas. If people had questions about CAIR’s sympathies before, this should end all debate on the matter. In March of 1994, the future co-founder and Executive Director of CAIR, Nihad Awad, revealed himself as a supporter of Hamas. ‘After I researched the situation inside and outside Palestine, I am in support of the Hamas movement more than the PLO,’ he said. ‘I know that this movement as an Islamic movement has not been objectively reported in the United States…’When the declaration was made, Awad was the spokesman for the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), the American propaganda wing of Hamas. However, since CAIR was established just a few months later, the organization has been extremely hesitant about making any such pronouncements about Hamas. Except for a statement at a November 2001 interfaith gathering by ex-CAIR-New York President Al-Haaj Ghazi Khankan, which he now says was a misquote, CAIR has been virtually silent. But as of March 1, 2008, 14 years following Awad’s infamous statement, CAIR’s wall of silence about Hamas has come crashing down, as CAIR-Florida representative Jawhar ‘Joe’ Badran spoke out at a public forum — except, unlike Awad and Khankan, this time it was caught on video.Jawhar Sadallah Badran, a Palestinian resident of Deerfield Beach, Florida, has made outrageous statements before. In July of 2006, he told the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, ‘Hamas and Hezbollah are committing acts of defense against the acts of the Israelis. The only weapons that we have are to strap bombs on our bodies and do whatever damage and destruction we can.’At the time, although he had told the paper that he was not speaking on behalf of any group, Badran was representing the South Florida chapter of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC-South Florida) as its Vice President. [CAIR co-founder and ex-IAP President Rafiq Jaber was also a leader of the ADC.]Nevertheless, at a March 1, 2008 rally against CAIR’s usage of a government-owned facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, there was no ambiguity, as Badran made his support for Hamas known. Speaking into a microphone bearing CAIR’s name and logo and standing beside a smiling Altaf Ali, the executive director of CAIR-Florida, he clearly and emphatically stated on video: ‘Hamas is not a terrorist organization.’Additionally, when asked if Hamas was a terror group, one of the girls running video for CAIR said ‘No,’ and a number of witnesses claim that Ali did the same.Badran made other pro-Hamas statements at the rally. For instance, he said, ‘Hamas is a defender of the Palestinian people. That’s what Hamas is.’ In a similar vein, he declared that ‘Hamas is better than Fatah, because there’s no corruption. Hamas takes care of the people.’ And when asked if he believed a suicide bombing was a terrorist act, he balked on the question and said, ‘I’m saying that the state of Israel has committed a terrorist act.’Given his associations with extremist groups and given his overtly pro-Hamas stance, it is curious that Badran, too, sits on the diversity committee of the Broward County School Board. On the other hand, given the way that Broward has coddled CAIR over the years, it may very well make sense. In March of 2003, the School Board produced a video starring CAIR’s Altaf Ali, which was shown in all of Broward’s public schools. In August of 2005, the Broward Commission handed over the Fort Lauderdale Main Library to CAIR for a six-part series on Islam. And last year, just as this year, the local government approved CAIR’s usage of the Broward County Convention Center to hold its annual banquet, which featured the same speaker, Siraj Wahhaj, an ‘unindicted co-conspirator’ of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. It was because of Broward County’s embrace of CAIR that my group, Americans Against Hate, called for a rally outside of CAIR’s event. We wanted to speak out about CAIR’s ties to terrorism and to denounce local officials for not taking a strong stand against the organization. While CAIR was recently named by the U.S. government an (unindicted) co-conspirator for a trial that dealt with the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas, and while the FBI stated, during the trial, that CAIR was founded as a part of the American Palestine Committee, a group led by then-head of Hamas Mousa Abu Marzook, the organization continues to be embraced by local governments across our nation. With this new revelation of CAIR’s explicit public support for Hamas, it may be hoped that those in power will understand the true nature of this group. Perhaps now, government officials from Broward County and other areas will not be so quick to grant CAIR access to its cities and will, instead, work to shut the group down. No longer do they have the excuse of ignorance.

Contact Barbara boxer and tell her to not meet with terrorist funders

Posted by avideditor on March 17, 2008

Update: She is meeting with them again. 😦

CAIR has been caught funding the terrorist group Hamas which it openly supports. It doesn’t believe Israel has a right to exist or defend itself. It wants to spread these lies to Senator boxer. Write to her and express your distaste in her meeting with a group that openly calls and funds the destruction of Israel. You can email boxer here. https://boxer.senate.gov/contact/email/policy.cfm

This is CAIR’s press release:   Muslim, Interfaith Leaders Meet Boxer Staff Over Gaza Crisis: “(LOS ANGELES, CA, 3/13/08) – Southern California Muslim and interfaith leaders met Wednesday with representatives from Senator Barbara Boxer’s (D-CA) office to express their concerns about Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip and the resulting humanitarian crisis.”Those joining the meeting were: Sharaf Mowjood, Government Relations Coordinator of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Greater Los Angeles Area; Salam Al-Marayati, Executive Director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council; Rabbi Allan Freehling, Executive Director of the L.A. City Human Relations Commission; Rabbi Steven Jacobs, Rabbi Emeritus of Temple Kol Tikvah; Rev. Peter Laarman, Executive Director of Progressive Christians Uniting; and Rev. Darrel Meyers, Friends of Sabeel.Al-Marayati asked for the senator to take a leadership role in urging Israel to end its blockade of humanitarian relief for Gazans.”Senator Boxer, as a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Subcommittee on Near Eastern Affairs, must break the silence on the humanitarian crisis and suffering in Gaza,” said Al-Marayati. “There is a growing interfaith peacemaking community that she should listen to as opposed to the war-making industry in Washington.”Mowjood said Israel’s blockade had caused severe food shortages, worsened the healthcare system and nearly collapsed the water and sewage systems for the 1.5 million people of Gaza.“Our Administration’s silence on Palestinians’ suffering and the lack of a call for a ceasefire indicate that our Administration places less value on the lives of Palestinians than Israelis,” Mowjood said.Rev. Laarman urged Senator Boxer to take the initiative in furthering peacemaking efforts in the region.“We, in the progressive religious community, were saddened and disappointed at the failure of so many political leaders, especially one as well-known for her peacemaking work as Barbara Boxer, for not having spoken out on the horrendous suffering of Palestinians in Gaza or on the threat to a resolution of the conflict posed by the new settlements in the West Bank,”

Peter Laarman.Rabbi Freehling said he stands with the Muslim American community in their grave concern over the profound suffering of too many Palestinians and Israelis. He reminded the senator of their long-standing relationship, and urged her to remain steadfast in pursuing peace in the region despite the pressure she must be facing from special interest groups. The leaders expect to hear back from the senator’s office in a week’s time.- END -CONTACT: CAIR-LA Communications Coordinator Munira Syeda, (714) 776-1847, socal@cair.com; MPAC Communications Director Edina Lekovic, (213) 383-3443, communications@mpac.org.

Rev. Wright’s ‘War on Iraq IQ Test’

Posted by avideditor on March 17, 2008

Charles of Little Green Footballs has found a disturbing piece of anti Israel propaganda that Obama’s mister created. I think Obama agrees and knows Reverend Wright’s political views. I do not trust Obama as a senator. I think he will destroy our country and give up on Israel as a president.

Rev. Wright’s ‘War on Iraq IQ Test’: “

LGF reader mcs emailed a link to yet another disturbing rant by Jeremiah Wright, this time in writing: The War on Iraq IQ Test.

After a series of viciously slanted pro-Saddam questions, the Reverend’s IQ test suddenly veers into Israel-hatred straight out of the Muammar Gaddafi playbook:

41. Q: How many UN resolutions did Israel violate by 1992?

A: Over 65

42. Q: How many UN resolutions on Israel did America veto between 1972 and 1990?

A: 30+

43. Q: How much does the U.S. fund Israel a year?

A:$5 billion

44. Q: How many countries are known to have nuclear weapons?

A: 8

45. Q: How many nuclear warheads has Iraq got?

A: 0

46. Q: How many nuclear warheads has US got?

A: over 10,000

47. Q: Which is the only country to use nuclear weapons?

A: the US

48. Q: How many nuclear warheads does Israel have?

A: Over 400

49. Q: Has Israel every allowed UN weapon inspections?

A: No

50. Q: What percentage of the Palestinian territories are controlled by Israeli settlements?

A: 42%

51. Q: Is Israel illegally occupying Palestinian land?

A: Yes

And concluding with this:

52. Q: Which country do you think poses the greatest threat to global peace: Iraq or the U.S.?

A: ????

Thai policemen inspect the wreckage of a vehicle after a roadside bomb attack in Thailand’s Yala province, February 27, 2008.

BANGKOK, Thailand (CNN) Mar 15 — Two people were killed Saturday in two explosions in Yala and Pattani provinces in Thailand, authorities said.

The first was a car bombing in the city of Yala on Saturday afternoon, police said. The man who was driving the car was killed, authorities said. No further details were released.

n Pattani, one person was killed and nine others injured about 8:30 p.m. Saturday when a bomb planted in a parked car exploded, police said.

Another bomb was found inside the restaurant of the CS Pattani Hotel, but authorities were able to defuse it.

The hotel is considered to be in a relatively safe area and is frequented by journalists and government officials.

The owner, a senator who sustained minor injuries, said the incident might have stemmed from a local political issue.

8 children injured in Yala bomb attack

Yala – Eight children were injured, three seriously, when insurgents detonated a bomb at a playground in Bannang Sata district.

The bomb hid inside a motorcycle and left near a playground behind a house exploded at about 11 am, Banang Sata district chief Methi Kanachanphuwa said.

Some of the injured children were sitting in the house and the rest were playing in the playground.

Methi said the insurgents might time the bomb to explode when a patrol unit of soldiers passed the spot but no soldiers were injured.

A war where terror is the weapon of choice

Something all terrorist attacks have in common is their perpetration for a political purpose. And moslems are using religion as a disguise to mislead the non moslem of the political agenda of islam. Terrorism is a political tactic, not unlike letter writing or protesting, that is used by activists when they believe no other means will effect the kind of change they desire.

The change is desired so badly that failure is seen as a worse outcome than the deaths of civilians. This is often where the interrelationship between terrorism and religion occurs. When a political struggle is integrated into the framework of a religious struggle, such as over the control of an ancestral homeland or in the moslem case, world domination, failing in the political goal becomes equated with spiritual failure, which, for the highly committed, is worse than their own death or the deaths of innocent civilians.

Deliberate targeting of non-combatants – It is commonly held that the distinctive nature of terrorism lies in its intentional and specific selection of civilians as direct targets. Specifically, the criminal intent is shown when babies, children, mothers, and the elderly are murdered, or injured, and put in harms way.

Much of the time, the victims of terrorism are targeted not because they are threats, but because they are specific ‘symbols, tools, animals or corrupt beings’ that tie into a specific view of the world that the terrorist possess.

Their suffering accomplishes the terrorists’ goals of instilling fear, getting a message out to an audience, or otherwise accomplishing their often radical religious and political ends. Terrorists almost invariably pretend to be non-combatants, hide among non-combatants, fight from in the midst of non-combatants, and when they can, strive to mislead and provoke the government soldiers into attacking the wrong people, that the government may be blamed for it

Dershowitz: Rule of Law Must Adapt to Terrorism

Posted by avideditor on March 17, 2008

Dershowitz: 'Rule of Law Must Adapt to Terrorism': “Hillel Fendel

Prof. Alan Dershowitz, visiting in Israel, says ‘rule of law’ must adapt itself to fight the terror threat. He bemoans American Jewry’s lack of connection with Israel, and calls on U.S. Jews to visit Israel.

Dershowitz, the Felix Frankfurter Professor of Law at Harvard University and an outspoken advocate for Israel in books, articles, lectures and debates, has set two goals for his current visit to Israel: He’s here to show support for the residents of Sderot and Ashkelon, and to teach classes and give lectures on how to fight the war against terrorism within a revamped rule of law. Speaking with IsraelNationalRadio’s Yishai Fleisher, Dershowitz said, ‘I will be teaching how the rule of law has to change, to adapt to the new realities of suicide terrorists who use human shields and thus place democracies in a difficult situation. They take advantage of our higher morality, forcing democracies to choose between doing nothing or inevitably killing civilians. The rules currently favor the terrorists over the democracies, and the rules have to change.’

On-Line Rally for Sderot
Dershowitz said he will be participating in a large American Jewish Congress conference this week at which these issues will be discussed. ‘Some of the world’s most important and influential jurists will be there, such as Irwin Kotler, who was Attorney General and Minister of Justice in Canada, former Israeli Supreme Court justices, and Americans as well. It will be an interesting attempt to redefine jurisprudence.’

Prof. Dershowitz will also be visiting Sderot later this week, taking part in what organizers expect will be the largest-ever on-line rally. The rally will begin at 5 PM New York time (11 PM in Israel) this Thursday night, at http://www.togetherforisrael.org, and will switch back and forth between Israel, New York, Los Angeles and other sites around the world. Those involved, including Dershowitz, are hoping to have a million people click and sign on during the rally.

A Target on His Back
‘I’ll be under the rockets in Sderot myself, with a big target on my back,’ Dershowitz said, ‘just like all the other citizens of Sderot. I want to feel what it’s like to be in Sderot and Ashkelon at these times, with the terrorists playing Russian rocket roulette with the lives of Israeli citizens. Israel should adopt a zero tolerance policy for rockets. I have written that every rocket that flies from Gaza into Israel is a violation of UN Charter Article 51 – an armed attack giving Israel the full and complete right to proportional self-defense.’

‘Why must it be proportional?’ Fleisher interjected, to which Dershowitz responded, ‘Proportional doesn’t mean equating lives; it just means that if they fire a rifle at you, you can’t nuke them. It also doesn’t mean that for every life taken, you can take one life, as the international community absurdly believes. It simply means that you don’t react totally out of proportion, and neither do you look at the actual damage caused, but rather, you look at the risks of an attack. If each rocket can potentially kill 100 people, then just because they missed, it doesn’t remove the risk that had been there. Israel doesn’t have to wait until inevitably a rocket hits a school bus or a kindergarten or an ambulance; it can look at the risks, not just the actual consequences.’
Israel doesn’t have to wait until inevitably a rocket hits a school bus or a kindergarten or an ambulance.

Though he supports a strong Israeli response against terrorism, he is not politically right-wing. Dershowitz has stated that his book The Case for Israel ‘is a pro-Palestinian as well as pro-Israel book, because it favors an economically viable Palestinian democratic state, with good health care, education, opportunity, and freedom for the Palestinian people.’

Hizbullah Wants More Civilian Deaths
Dershowitz noted that while Israel has built a shelter system in Sderot in order to protect lives, ‘Hizbullah did exactly the opposite in Lebanon in 2006 – because Hizbullah wanted to increase the amount of its civilian deaths. That’s because our culture is one of ubacharta bachaim [the Biblical prescription to ‘choose life’], while the Imams encourage them to look at their children as martyrs. This is what makes it so difficult for the democracies, because the terrorists are trying to get us to kill their children.’

US Jewry Growing More Disconnected with Israel
Fleisher asked Prof. Dershowitz about the lack of connection of American Jews with Israel, noting that 70% of them have never been to Israel. ‘It’s getting much worse,’ Dershowitz agreed. ‘My generation had a high level of connection to Israel, but my children and grandchildren’s generations are much less so. Jews in their 20’s are sometimes embarrassed by Israel; they’re fair-weather friends. They’re happy when Israel succeeds, but they ignore Israel when international support goes down. But core support for Israel is still pretty strong.’

‘I think we have to increase the case for Israel, that’s why I write so much – I’ve written The Case for Israel, and now I’m writing The Case Against Israel’s Enemies, where I take on people like Jimmy Carter, and Ahmedinajad, and Mearsheimer and Walt and other professors who devote their lives to their hatred of Israel. They have to know that they will be answered…’

‘And in order to increase a sense of passion for Israel,’ Dershowitz concluded, ‘we have to bring more Jews to Israel; there’s no better way to get a passion for Israel than to be here.’

Spencer cirque on islomo-fascist propaganda against his book

Posted by avideditor on March 17, 2008

Way to go Spencer 🙂

Al-Arabiya in a froth over Spencer book: “

Al-Qaeda’s Azzam Al-Amriki, however, loved it*

Al-Arabiya discovers a sixteen-month-old promotion for my book The Truth About Muhammad, and the spittle starts flying.

As for the headline of their piece, I challenge anyone at Al-Arabiya, or anyone anywhere, to substantiate a single lie or hateful statement within the book.

‘US magazine distributes free anti-Prophet book: Book is said to contain lies and hate,’ from Al-Arabiya (thanks to all who sent this in):

A right-wing American weekly magazine will distribute free copies of a book that insults Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and associates Islam with terrorism, Washington-based news agency America in Arabic reported.

‘Right-wing’! Boo!

The neo-conservative, Republican-oriented Human Events magazine will distribute Robert Spencer’s The Truth About Muhammad: Founder of the World’s Most Intolerant Religion (2006), America in Arabic said.

‘Neo-conservative’! Boo! ‘Republican-oriented’! Boo!

Actually, as I noted above, this promotion has gone out many times over the last year and a half.

Actually, Human Events is a newspaper.

The book — regularly priced at 30 dollars — is released by Regnery, which has published a string of controversial neo-con books and is a division of Eagle Publishing, which owns Human Events.

Actually it’s $27.95, unless it has gone up without my knowledge.

‘Controversial neo-con books’! Boo!

Well-known British writer Karen Armstrong, author of Muhammad: A Prophet of Our Time, has said that the book is ‘written in hatred,’ contains ‘basic and bad mistakes of fact’ and that the author ‘deliberately manipulates the evidence’.

Actually, it was Karen Armstrong (who cannot, as far as I know, read souls and thus has no idea whether or not I wrote the book in ‘hatred’) who committed ‘basic and bad mistakes of fact’ and perhaps ‘deliberately manipulate[d] the evidence’ in her truth-free review of my book, as I demonstrated here.

The magazine says Spencer unravels facts not known to historians.

No, it doesn’t.

The book claims that Muhammad said terrorism made him victorious and that he used to tempt people with paradise so they would crush his enemies.

Yeah, I made all that up, and cast it into the canonical hadith by means of my Zionist black arts.

‘I have been made victorious with terror’ — so says Muhammad not according to me, but according to Bukhari (Vol. 4, Book 52, Number 220). Sahih Bukhari is the hadith collection, that is, the collection of traditions of Muhammad, that Muslims consider most reliable.

And what about that bit about Paradise? Here’s another ahadith: ‘On the day of the battle of Uhud, a man came to the Prophet and said, ‘Can you tell me where I will be if I should get martyred?’ The Prophet replied, ‘In Paradise.’ The man threw away some dates he was carrying in his hand, and fought till he was martyred’ (Bukhari Volume 5, Book 59, Number 377).

Yes, more of Spencer’s lies!

The author also accuses Muhammad of treason, breaching the Treaty of Hudaybiya with the Meccan tribe of Quraish, and instigating Muslims to kill Jews.

According to Muhammad’s earliest biographer, Ibn Ishaq, the Treaty of Hudaybiya contained this provision: ‘If anyone comes to Muhammad without the permission of his guardian he will return him to them; and if anyone of those with Muhammad comes to Quraysh they will not return him to him.’

That is, those fleeing the Quraysh and seeking refuge with the Muslims would be returned to the Quraysh, while those fleeing the Muslims and seeking refuge with the Quraysh would not be returned to the Muslims.

But soon thereafter a woman of the Quraysh, Umm Kulthum, joined the Muslims in Medina; her two brothers came to Muhammad, asking that they be returned ‘in accordance with the agreement between him and the Quraysh at Hudaybiya.’ But Muhammad refused: Allah forbade it. He gave Muhammad a new revelation: ‘O ye who believe! When there come to you believing women refugees, examine and test them: Allah knows best as to their faith: if ye ascertain that they are believers, then send them not back to the unbelievers’ (Qur’an 60:10).

In refusing to send Umm Kulthum back to the Quraysh, Muhammad broke the treaty. Although Muslim apologists have claimed throughout history that the Quraysh broke it first, this incident came before all those by the Quraysh that Muslims point to as treaty violations. Islamic apologist Yahiya Emerick, in his own biography of Muhammad, essentially admits this, and asserts that Muhammad based his case on a bit of legal hair-splitting: the treaty stipulated that the Muslims would return to the Quraysh any man who came to them, not any woman. But even if that is true, Muhammad soon – as Emerick acknowledges – began to accept men from the Quraysh as well, thus definitively breaking the treaty. See Yahiya Emerick, The Life and Work of Muhammad, Alpha Books, 2002, pp. 230-240.

So I suppose Emerick’s book also, in acknowledging all this, also contains ‘lies’ and ‘hate’?

And as for the bit about killing Jews, both of the earliest biographers of Muhammad, Ibn Ishaq and Ibn Sa’d, both zealous Muslims, record his telling his followers at a certain point: ‘Kill any Jew that falls into your power.’

Spencer, the director of the Jihad Watch and Dhimmi Watch websites, also claims that the prophet encouraged Muslim men to take women captive to control them.

Yes, it is I who wrote into the Qur’an the permission for Muslim men to have sexual relations with women ‘whom your right hands possess’ (4:24).

Ultra conservative attorney Ann Coulter, who writes a column in the magazine, is taking part in the campaign to promote the book.

‘Ultra conservative’! Boo! Ann Coulter! Boo!

The rest of the Al-Arabiya piece goes on to smear Coulter, and me by association. But the troubling aspect of all this for the folks at Al-Arabiya, as I show by the citations above, is that everything I say in the book is true, and it is they who are either lying or ignorant about what the earliest Islamic texts say about Muhammad.

* Yes, folks, it’s a Photoshop job.

Latest Peaceful PalArab Poll

Posted by avideditor on March 17, 2008

Latest Peaceful PalArab Poll: “From The Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research:

If new presidential elections were to take place today, Mahmud Abbas and Ismail Haniyeh would receive almost equal number of votes, 46% for Abbas and 47% for Haniyeh. Haniyeh’s popularity today is the highest ever registered since Hamas’s electoral victory in January 2006.

The gap between the standing of Fateh compared to the standing of Hamas decreases significantly in three months from 18 percentage points to 7. If new parliamentary elections were to take place today, Hamas would receive 35%, Fateh 42%, other electoral lists combined 12%, and 11% remain undecided. This represents a significant increase in Hamas’s popularity compared to December 2007 when it received 31% compared to 49% to Fateh, 10% to other lists and 11% undecided.

49% say Haniyeh should stay in office as Prime Minister while 45% say he should not. Last September only 40% said Haniyeh should stay as prime minister. By contrast, today only 38% say Fayyad’s government should stay in office and 55% say it should not.

One of the elephants in the room is that the West Bank is not nearly as ‘moderate’ as wishful-thinking Secretaries of State might believe. Even in the earlier municipal elections, Hamas beat Fatah in many major West Bank towns, and Fatah’s hold seems to be pretty much Ramallah alone.

If the majority of Palestinian Arabs freely support terrorism, how much are they responsible for the actions of the terror government they support?

Media being responsible or unethical?

Posted by avideditor on March 17, 2008

Media being responsible or unethical?: “
Take a look at the difference in media treatment of the Tibetan-Chinese issues compared to the Palsetinian-Israeli conflict. Read the media blurbs below the cartoon.I thought it would be interesting to check with the anti-Israel media today to see how they are reporting the troubles in Occupied Tibet and the current ‘Free Tibet’ campaign.

The BBC, so quick to inflame the public with condemnations of Israeli actions, reports the suppression of Tibetan protests with this headline and lead paragraph:

China Denies Tibet Death Reports

‘Tibet’s governor said the security forces did not use lethal weapons. A senior Chinese official has denied that troops used lethal force to quell protests in Tibet’s main city, Lhasa.

Qiangba Puncog, the Tibetan regional governor, insisted calm was returning to Lhasa, as a deadline for protesters to hand themselves in approached.’ -more

Reuters News Agency’s headline and lead paragraph read:

China Says Using Restraint to Quell Tibet Unrest

‘BEIJING (Reuters) – China said on Monday it had shown great restraint in the face of violent protests by Tibetans, which it said were orchestrated by followers of the Dalai Lama seeking to wreck the Beijing Olympics in August.’ -more

And Al Jazeera, in today’s coverage calmly explains Chinese settlements and the movement of massive numbers of Chinese settlers into the occupied territory of Tibet this way:

‘For several years government economic subsidies have brought an influx of Chinese migrants, under a policy groups like The Free Tibet Campaign group say is part of an increasingly successful ploy to make Tibetans the minority people in many areas of Tibet.’ -more

Your thoughts?

On China? and Media bias?

Israel Air Force may buy vertical-takeoff planes to dodge Hizballah-Hamas rockets

Posted by avideditor on March 17, 2008

I think Israel should use the planes it has now to defend itself.

Israel Air Force may buy vertical-takeoff planes to dodge Hizballah-Hamas rockets: “

This is reported in the American Defense News . The expanding Palestinian and Lebanese Hizballah’s missile threats to its southern and northern air bases have persuaded Israeli’s Air Force to consider switching its procurement plans from 100 US F-35A stealth jets to the F-35B Short Takeoff and Vertical Landing (STOVL) version, designed to serve the US Marine Corps when under fire.

Israel’s southern and northern air bases have come within range of rockets from Hizballah in Lebanon and Hamas from the Gaza Strip, respectively, and possibly from the West Bank too.

Molotov Cocktails Hurled Into Hillel Delegate’s Home

Posted by avideditor on March 17, 2008

The world is becoming a more dangerous place for Jews. I just expected it to stay safer in the States for longer.

Molotov Cocktails Hurled Into Hillel Delegate’s Home: “

Firebombs hurled into home of Jewish Agency representative in U.S.

Two Molotov cocktails were thrown at the home of the Jewish Agency’s representative at Brown University in the United States on Saturday, causing no injuries. The motive behind the attack is not yet known.

man_with_molotov_cocktail.pngThe two explosives were hurled into the Hillel delegate’s home in Providence, Rhode Island. One landed in the living room without exploding and was taken for fingerprint analysis. The second hit an external wall, igniting a fire in the yard.

Federal Bureau of Investigation detectives and local police were investigating the incident.

Amos Hermon, head of the Jewish Agency task force on anti-Semitism stressed that while authorities had not yet reached a conclusion on the attack’s motives, radical left-wing groups were increasing anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian activity on U.S. campuses.

Obama’s Church Sanitizes Website

Posted by avideditor on March 17, 2008

Obama’s Church Sanitizes Website: “

First the controversial pastor disappears from Obama’s website. Then his church plays the victim card. Now Trinity Baptist have removed the ‘black values’ from their about us page! Is the new pastor bringing a new vision and vaules system? Lets hope so, but lets not forget the values they adopted before and are rooted in.

The 160-word section has since been deleted from the About Us page, replaced by videotaped testimonials from church members extolling the virtues of the church, including a white official from the parent United Church of Christ who said she feels welcome at predominantly black Trinity.

‘These black ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever blacks are gathered,’ the original webpage said.

Here is the entire text of the section before it was redacted:

‘Trinity United Church of Christ adopted the Black Value System, written by the Manford Byrd Recognition Committee chaired by the late Vallmer Jordan in 1981. We believe in the following 12 precepts and covenantal statements. These Black Ethics must be taught and exemplified in homes, churches, nurseries and schools, wherever Blacks are gathered. They must reflect on the following concepts:

1. Commitment to God

2. Commitment to the Black Community

3. Commitment to the Black Family

4. Dedication to the Pursuit of Education

5. Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence

7. Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect

8. Disavowal of the Pursuit of ‘Middleclassness’

9. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community

10. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions

11. Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System

12. Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.’

The church did not immediately return phone calls to explain why the page changed. Lets hope they have had an awakening and revelation to ‘change’ from their hateful past.

This Is What MLK Said About Wright’s Church

Posted by avideditor on March 17, 2008

This Is What MLK Said About Wright’s Church: “

I am so sick and tired of these people bringing Martin Luther King into this thing. They completely disregard King’s fundamental principle for judging people:

‘…will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.’

But here is an MLK quote which dismisses any claims Wright and his ilk are making with regard to equating themselves with Dr. King:

‘The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the Negro community must not lead us to a distrust of all white people, for many of our white brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. And they have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom.’
