There is undoubtedly a patriot movement underway in the US right now – several, in fact – many striving in the same direction, while others are so far off course that they simply should not be considered as patriotic in any way. The latter are jeopardizing true patriotism and real patriots should distance themselves from these people and realize that they are the ones that give the federal government the ability to label them as “extremists” and a detriment to our country. This is because some of these so called “patriots” are not true American patriots.
Definition of a PATRIOT:
1.
a person who loves, supports, and defends his or her country and its interests with devotion.
2.
a person who regards himself or herself as a defender, especially of individual rights, against presumed interference by the federal government.
(IsraelNN.com) The IDF’s Chief Counsel, Brig. Gen. Avichai Mandelblit, said in a weekend lecture that the IDF is utterly committed to international law in all of its actions and defended the decision not to bomb the hospital where Hamas’s heads were hiding during the IDF’s operation in Gaza in January.
Speaking at a Jerusalem seminar titled “Fighting and Winning within the Framework of the Law,” Mandelblit said that the IDF would never put aside the laws laid down by international law, adding that “all of the commanders hold it sacred.”
“The IDF’s clear position – and I have already worked with three chiefs of staff – is that we must always act within the [international] laws,” the kippah-wearing attorney said. He was quoted on the IDF’s website.

And here we go again! The unemployment (or should I say, “funemployment!“) numbers for the month of August have been released, and so we must update our ongoing series. And so, without further ado, may I present the chart we’ve all come to know and love so well, with all due credit to the original source (more info and graphs at the link):
And so, after briefly dipping to 9.4% last month, this month the number has gone up to 9.7%, which for those scoring at home, means it went up 0.3% last month. Also, that is the highest that unemployment has been since waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 1983, before I was even born.(Pauses for a moment to let some readers contemplate on how old they feel all of a sudden…) Read the rest of this entry »
This is just sick it is behavior that is bad for even Saudi Arabia yet alone here. Say no to jihadis. Hamas is a terrorist organization that needs to be stopped. If you live in Cali email or call you representatives not to go to dinner with a terrorist group. The dinner is tonight.
The late Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn put his finger on the problem when he said: “The timid civilized world has found nothing with which to oppose the onslaught of a sudden revival of barefaced barbarity, other than concessions and smiles.” read the rest
Just as he did time after time in the Illinois Legislature Pres Zero refuses to take a stand regarding the Afghan War. Shades of Jimmah Huessein Carter.
Let me get this right. Obama campaigned for two years claiming that he had a plan for Afghanistan as it surely is more important than Iraq. Yet here we are 9 months into his term and we find that he has no plan.
McChrystal’s assessment is expected to offer a blunt appraisal of the Taliban’s increasing tactical prowess and diminishing popular support in Afghanistan for both the foreign-led war effort and the fragile, corruption-riddled central government.
“The situation in Afghanistan is serious,” McChrystal said Monday, and success “demands a revised implementation strategy, commitment and resolve, and increased unity of effort.”
Gates told reporters traveling with him to Fort Worth, Texas, “We have been very explicit that Gen. McChrystal should be forthright in telling us what he needs.” A Pentagon spokesman said Gates had not yet seen McChrystal’s recommendations, which were being reviewed and commented upon by Gen. David Petraeus and others at U.S. Central Command.
I can’t endorse the political slant. I liked George and Laura, and they were certainly better than the current shmegegge occupying the whitehouse. It’s cute though. I hope the Bush’s are thick-skinned.
