The Concept of “Inner” Jihad

My friend Kitman at Kitman TV makes a very interesting observation about the difference between the ‘inner’ and ‘outer’ struggle in Jihad:

Roughly speaking Aziz argues that God is only happy if you are doing it for him alone. You should fight in the path of God so that his words will be the highest. God is not only upset if his slaves flirt with other Abrahamic faiths, he also tend to get very unhappy if they think too much of the earthly riches especially the war booty, or even their heavenly counterparts. Falling short on these issues could seriously damage the ability of an otherwise successful killing spree to heap up postmortem delights

Don´t think about:

- a share of the spoils of war
- having your own sex-slaves
- improving your career opportunities
- the pleasures of paradise
- bettering the chances for your family in the after life
- other distractions from the pure cause

Keeping an eye on all these things, while fighting the unbelievers makes jihad a very difficult exercise, physically as well as mentally – hence the classic distinction between the small and the grand jihad – the inner and outer struggle. It is thus important to remember, that Jihad really is a small inner struggle, in which you constantly remind yourself that you kill for God alone and in a manner he prefers. All the while treating the war booty as something irrelevant.

In short, ‘inner’ Jihad, as Muslims often attempt to tell us, is not necessarily a struggle to do good over evil (like the followers of Islam ever succeed in that struggle…) but rather ensuring the mindset that ‘outer’ Jihad (terrorism against non-Muslims) is being committed for Allah, and not for personal gain such as fame, wealth, or an elevated status.

Killing Civilians: A Muslim View

According to Yasser Arafat’s Palestinian Authority, pregnant Jewish women and young Jewish girls who make their homes in the Gaza Strip are “terrorists,” while the “Palestinians” who murder them are “heroic martyrs.”

On Sunday, two Palestinian Arab gunmen mercilessly shot to death Tali Hatuel, 36, and her four daughters, all under the age of 12. Hatuel’s unborn son was also killed.

Between hyperbole and credibility.

An often-discussed topic of considerable controversy is the notion of how many Muslims support killing civilians as a tactic. Numbers range from a tiny fraction up to 50% of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims.

Those who consider themselves more liberal tend to lean toward the tiny fraction estimate, while conservatives lean toward the larger numbers. Part of what drives the thinking of liberals is their tendency to see things from a more idyllic viewpoint, plus their belief that few people, if any, are evil and that at the core of everyone there is goodness to be found. This view tends to discount the impact of living in a society where virtually every aspect of daily life is under strict adherence to fundamentalism, and where jihad for Allah is considered the single holiest act of a true follower of the faith. The martyr-killer is considered a hero and the martyr’s family is showered with gifts and held in a place of honor among fellow believers.

The foregoing assessment is corroborated by a former Muslim terrorist, Walid Shoebat, who was born and raised in the Middle East, and who spent time in jail for his involvement with jihad. However, in the mid-1990s, he renounced Islam. By doing so he became an “enemy of Islam” and has been living under threat of death ever since. These days, in spite of being under a fatwa, Walid writes books, and speaks at churches, synagogues and numerous other events about Islam and jihad.

One of the reasons there has been considerable debate on this flashpoint topic is that statistics are not readily available. However, recently a report was published providing information which allows some deductive conclusions to be drawn.

The bills, known officially as H.R. 520 and S. 247 but colloquially as “Cash for Clunkers”, both propose issuing a voucher to consumers in exchange for the destruction of their old (yes, both bills capitalize the term) High Fuel Consumption Vehicle. Overall, the bills are just another species of how myopic government reaction can have far-reaching negative consequences in unexpected areas.

There is No Such Thing as Palestinian People

There are Arabs who live in a region once called Palestine. There was never a nation called the Palestinian people. This is a modern day myth, created for political purposes…nay, for purposes of stealth warfare. Before the State of Israel was reborn, Jews were called Palestinians.

The native people of this land never called it Palestine. It was either Judea, or Samaria, or the Galilee, or the Negev. It was Eretz Israel.  Romans, famed for gate-crashing raids, invasions, usurpations of native peoples, these Romans named it Palestina as one last dig — against the most troublesome province they’d ever conquered — Judea, who refused to submit to them for any appreciable length of time. This was extremely costly for Rome. In a parting kiss of death, as they murdered, enslaved and exiled most of us, in an attempt to permanently sever us from our land and hopefully destroy us from the face of the earth, they renamed the land Palastina.

The territory is still not a nation called Palestine. Now it is the “disputed territories”, despite the delusions of Arab mapmakers. Don’t believe me?

UN Security Council: New Arab State Urgently Needed

The United Nations Security Council issued a statement Monday calling for the creation of a new Arab state in Judea, Samaria and Gaza and the cessation of Jewish development in those same areas. Israel rejected the

The declaration, affirmed by 15 member states, was presented by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Russia currently chairs the Council.

‘Urgent Efforts’ to Create a New Arab State
“The Council reiterates its call for renewed and urgent efforts by the parties and the international community to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East, based on the vision of a region where two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, will live side by side in peace, within secure and recognized borders,” the U.N. Security Council declared.

To that end, the Council encouraged the Quartet – the U.N., the U.S., Russia and the European Union – “to support the parties in their efforts to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East.”

The Council also called for a comprehensive Middle East peace agreement, including between Israel and Syria.

In her comments to the Council, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice added: “This is a moment that should not be lost and that is why the United States and others are redoubling our efforts to achieve a lasting two-state solution.”

A resident stranger, as referred to in the Torah, was one who was willing to abide by Torah law, living in peace among the Jewish people. As for those who would continue harassing the Jewish people within the land, refusing to abide by the Torah, they were indeed to be driven out. Many Arabs living in the disputed territories, and even within the current borders of modern Israel certainly qualify as enemies of the Jewish people, and state exactly that, proudly, repeatedly. These were the Arabs that R’ Kahane said “must go”. If one reads his books, one will find that he made a provision for non-Jews who swore an oath of loyalty to Israel, and were committed to living among the Jewish people in the Land, in peace and according to Jewish Law. These are known as “righteous gentiles” and are honored in the Torah.

There are Druzim, Armenians, Circasions, Christians of all stripes, and Arabs who live in Israel and in the disputed territories that qualify as “righteous gentiles”. Of course, those people would be able to stay. Only the bloodthirsty, the permanently belligerent people must go, and R’ Kahane made that clear in his writings. A Futile Plea to the Media: Please Make Up Your Damn Mind

Look, I’m a conservative. I make no secret of that fact. And as a conservative, I fall into the stereotype of thinking the media has a liberal bias, sometimes overwhelmingly so. Most of the time I don’t care, beacuse I’ve learned to decipher stories in such a way as to absorb facts are reject opinion. It took some work, but I’m fairly skilled at it now (at least I think so).

Now I have no problem with journalists injecting opinions into stories they write. They have freedom of speech and freedom of the press, and I won’t begrude them those rights (even if they don’t want to allow me my freedom to own a gun….but that’s a different rant for a different time). It only becomes a problem when they try to present opinion as fact.

A Texas Democrat introduced the “Infanticide Bill” this week.
Cassy Fiano reported on this disgusting bill:

It defines infanticide as:

A person commits an offense if the person wilfully by an act or omission causes the death of a child to whom the person gave birth within the 12-month period preceding the child’s death

The bill says that infanticide should not be prosecuted as murder, though, as long as:

… at the time of the act or omission, the person’s judgment was impaired as a result of the effects of giving birth or the effects of lactation following the birth.

Infanticide would become a felony, punishable by no more than two years in prison, with a minimum of 180 days, and/or a fine of no more than $10,000.

Abbas Rejects Talks with Israel; Abdullah Warns: War or Peace

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has rejected talks with Israel at this time, according to the Hebrew-language Maariv newspaper, apparently waiting for the outcome of next week’s meeting between U.S. President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu. Last week, the Prime Minister offered to return to the negotiating table immediately and without any pre-conditions.

The Arab world is expecting the U.S. to pressure Israel into specifically accepting the “two-state solution” and halting all construction in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. The discussions in Washington are being billed as crucial to the future of the Middle East.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has maintained the PA must become more stable economically and politically before a new Arab state can be created alongside the Jewish State, a concept that PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has rejected.

Israel fears that the objective of the Arab world is to allow the return of several million Arabs who claim to be descendants of former residents in the country. The result would be the domination of Arabs in Israel.

Abbas has conducted a determined single-minded four-year campaign to win international backing for a new PA state based on the Saudi Arabian 2002 Peace Plan that calls for Arab immigration and a new Arab country to be established on all of the land of Judea, Gaza and Samaria, including the Old City of Jerusalem.

The PA includes 250,000 Jews in Jerusalem neighborhoods which were restored to Israel in the Six-Day War in 1967. The municipality annexed the neighborhoods, including Gilo, Talpiot, Ramot and French Hill, into the capital more than 20 years ago, but the international community has not accepted the change.

WARSAW (AFP) – Sixty-five years ago Waclaw Sobczak hid a message in a bottle between the bricks of a wall in a building of the Nazi German Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp, a last sign of life as he prepared to die.

“I put the bottle in the wall,” Sobczak, 84, who survived Auschwitz but still bears the ID number — 145664 — the Nazis tattooed on his forearm, told AFP via telephone from his home in Wrabczyn, western Poland.

“It was an attempt to leave a trace of our existence as we thought we were going to die,” said Sobczak, sent to Auschwitz in 1943 as a slave labourer.

The note in the bottle written September 20, 1944 included Sobczak’s name and Auschwitz ID number along with those of five other fellow Poles and one Frenchman, all Auschwitz slaves at the time aged 18 to 20.

It was found in April by chance by workers demolishing a wall in what is now a school, but was part of the death camp during World War II.

Since, it has emerged that three of the men on the list are still alive.

“We were taught how to be masons by engineers and master masons, primarily French Jews,” said Karol Czekalski, 83, another of the Poles named on the list, which was formally handed over to the Auschwitz-Birkenau museum in southern Poland, this month.

“From the spring of 1944 some of the apprentices were deemed ready to work,” he added. “They joined the ‘Luftschutzbunkerbau’ responsible for building anti-air raid bunkers.”

The Frog and the Scorpion

A scorpion and a frog meet on the bank of a stream and the scorpion asks the frog to carry him across on its back. The frog asks, “How do I know you won’t sting me?” The scorpion says, “Because if I do, I will die too.”

The frog is satisfied, and they set out, but in midstream, the scorpion stings the frog. The frog feels the onset of paralysis and starts to sink, knowing they both will drown, but has just enough time to gasp “Why?”

Peace FAQ adds a liberal slant to the ending:

2nd Amendment Math: 1 Dead Criminal Saves 11 Innocent Lives

(Crossposted at http://paranoidpyro8503.blogspot.com/) I realize that one of the dangers of the internet is that stories come out in bits and pieces. Usually not all of a story is available right off the bat, and people can jump to conclusions that could later be proven wrong. In the story I’m writing about tonight, not all of the facts are yet available. The story seems to prove the bravery and heroism of one young man. Facts could come out later disputing portions of this story, but the overall theme is one many of us on the right base much of our worldview around. The story, via Jonah Goldberg at NRO (National Review Online), which I found via Ace of Spades HQ, is a story about a young man in college who saved the lives of himself and 11 of his friends by being armed and therefore able to defend himself.

Bailey said he thought it was the end of his life and the lives of the 10 people inside his apartment for a birthday party after two masked men with guns burst in through a patio door.

This story took your basic movie hostage turn: wallets and cell phones demanded, women and men separated, threats of death on the victims. But fortunately for all the innocents involved, one student had a handgun in his backpack. He first shot the man holding the guys hostage, and the man fled. Then, he shot the man (who is reported to be in the process of attempted rape) holding the women hostage . The 2nd robber jumped out the window, and was later found dead….after asking for somebody to call the cops to help him, ironically enough. Unfortunately, one girl was harmed in the crossfire; however, she is alive, recovering, and was not killed or raped.

Obviously there are a lot of variables in this story that will come out soon enough. Was the gun legal and/or registered? Was he allowed to carry it? What was the fate of the first robber? What charges will be pressed against this brave young man? For the skeptics: what is the likelyhood these men would have actally used their guns (even if they were actually willing to rape in either case)? But until then, let us take a moment to congratulate this couragous and quick-thinking young man for probably saving 11 lives.

On a personal note, I graduate from college in December of 2007. I lived in campus all 4 1/2 years, and it was a gun-free campus. We were told by campus security (who were not allowed to carry guns themselves until my last semester) that calling 911 from campus wouldn’t do any good because the police weren’t required to be familiar with the campus. We were told to call security first, and that they would call the cops and try to help out first themselves. Let my just say this was not at all comforting for me to find out. Police response time is long enough without having to add yet another step to the process (and not being 100% certain that step 1 would lead to step 2).

Currently I work for Pizza Hut as a delivery driver. Pizza Hut policy, which we are told at orientation, is that we are not allowed to carry any weapon to defend ourselves in the event of a robbery. I understand this, but it doesn’t help that my boss informs me every month about another driver or two getting robbed in Pittsburgh. Would I ever use a gun in self defense in that situation? Hard to say, honestly. If I knew giving somebody the money would be all, then I wouldn’t escalate the situation; conversely, if I knew only one of us would leave the situation alive I have no doubt I would use force. And I fully believe this was the situation this poor guy found himself in. When 2 men broke in, flashed their guns, and split up the party-goers, this young man had to know there was no good end for him if he remained passive.

The U.S Constutions states that we are “…endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” The right to life trumps all other rights. The 2nd amendment protects a person’s right to life, which this brave soul exercised when his right was threatened by these 2 thugs. What happened that night will stay with this man for the rest of his life. If this story holds up in its current form, may he know that he did the right thing and come to terms with it.

Hamas Calls to Kill All the Jews — again. Don’t they ever get tired of this?

Yeah. I know. Bee-Oh-Are-Eye-Enn-Gee —- boring….

I have heard this same sermon soooo many times…y-a-w-n. Don’t these guys ever write anything original? Do they get paid to repeat this stuff Friday after Friday after Friday? Honestly fellas, it’s starting to lose it’s punch.

Aside from the fact that these sorts are genocidal maniacs who probably have to wipe the froth off their rabid, salivating mouths every few minutes… looks like an easy life.

Who’s the guy filming this and handing it over to PMW? Now that would be interesting. Oops. Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything. The guys in the mosque probably didn’t figure that part out yet, they’re so busy planning our mass destruction and all.

One thing I think is so funny is how scandalized these Imams are that “it’s in the Jews’s nature to hate Islam.” Duh. I mean, you Muslim clerics are always demanding the murder of every last one of us, citing it as your religious duty soooo — what do you expect?!? Sheesh. Is it unreasonable of us to not want to be murdered? Why is this difficult to figure out? I mean, if you just once said something nice, but no, you’re always going on and on about how evil we are, how we all deserve to die and stuff.  You guys are like the “Energizer” killer bunnies or something. Do you ever eat, sleep, play with your kids, go for a stroll? Chill out.

Man, where’s a grumpy face when I need one? I cannot for the life of me…oh, better not use that expression, well, I can’t  figure out how to import those emoticon grumpy faces to WordPress. But I would put one right HERE if I could.

It’s long been a pet theory of mine that the big problem with much of Islamic culture is that y’all don’t enjoy some of the finer things in life. Your idea of fun is to drink coffee and eat baklavah. No beer, no wine, no music, and only extremely limited contact with women. That would put anyone into a hypoglycemic fit, not to mention a very bad mood.

You see, happy people typically don’t go around wanting to kill people. Moderate alcohol use, laughing with your wife, even flirting with her, or listening to some good Chuck Berry is actually relaxing and calming. Sugar and coffee will just get you all hopped up and ticked off.

Did you know Hitler was a suspected hypoglycemic? Yup. Every time he’d only have a danish and some coffee for breakfast, he’d invade a country.

Is Barack Obama a Natural Born Citizen or Not?

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’S BIRTH CERTIFICATE

Seems to me, since the average Joe in America can barely make a move without “proper identification”…the man who serves as President of the United States of America should be required to make public his birth certificate. According to Jerome Corsi, all Obama has presented is the short form, which doesn’t prove place of birth. He has yet to produce the long form, which contains the pertinent information.

At the time when Barack Obama’s short form “Certificate of Live Birth” was issued, Hawaii had been a state for only 2 years. The new state was in the process of getting their documentation in order and accepted verbal testimony as parents came in to register their babies.  Combine that with the verbal testimony of Obama’s paternal grandmother, who lives in Kenya, and claims she was present when her grandson was born — in Kenya.

Report: Obama’s Master Plan for the Middle East

U.S. President Barack Obama told Jordan’s King Abdullah two weeks ago to meet with leading Muslim Arab countries and persuade them to accept changes in the Saudi 2002 Initiative, according to the London-based Arabic language Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper.

The report reflects the president’s swift action on the Middle East since he was elected last November.

President Obama’s major proposed alteration in the Saudi peace plan is for Arab countries to grant citizenship to approximately five million Arabs who are descendants of former Israelis while allowing them the right to move to a new Palestinian Authority country.

The Saudi plan calls for them to be allowed to immigrate to Israel, a suggestion that virtually every Israeli leader categorically rejects. President Obama also reportedly told the king that he wants the United Nations flag raised over holy sites in eastern Jerusalem, where the PA would have total sovereignty under the Saudi plan.

Al Quds did not specify any other “concessions” to Israel but said that Arab countries should consider “other changes,” none of which were specified.
