THIS DAY March 10

Posted by Shiva on March 9, 2009

.
Even if I hadn’t been a camouflage officer in the Israeli army at the tender age of 16 during the siege of Jerusalem of 1948, I would have been able to tell you that 600 km under the serene mountain of olive trees and terraces of my real estate lurks the most powerful bomb in the world exploding away like there was no tomorrow.
A true citizen of the world, Mati Klarwein did not have strong roots in any one country. Born of Jewish parentage in pre-war Germany, he escaped with his parents, to Palestine, when just two years old, where he later adopted the name Abdul as a gesture of empathy with his Arab neighbours. Growing up as a Westerner in what was then Palestine (later Israel), Mati was always something of an outsider and never knew the comfort of an unchallenged belief system. Perhaps no surprise then that in his work he likes to challenge our assumptions on everything from religion and sexuality to the perceiver and the perceived.

Mother nature seems to love being whipped and mutilated by us humanoids and vice versa (otherwise why would she have bothered to create us?) so we take turns whipping and mutilating each other, as they say: He who whips longest laughs last. Nothing else matters, really

Jimi Hendrix

In the fifties, jazz was the exciting music of the moment – Charlie Parker, Miles, MJQ, Gerry Mulligan. But for me, that which I could identify with most was the influence of arab and african music and culture in black american music – the move toward a separate cultural identity, away from the white trash rectangular music. It started with the substituting of christian names by muslim ones. There was Ahmed Abdul Malek on the Oud with his Jazz-Sahara music, and there was Yusef Lateef, experimenting with flutes, reeds, bottles, balloons, home made string instruments and the use of fake arab words. I would spend hours in Paris and Harlem looking for his records. Here’s another reverse example – instead of a record album using my painting, I use an album cover photo for my painting.

When the painting was completed I sent Yusef a photo of it and signed it with Abdul Mati Klarwein. He replied promptly with a ‘dear bro’ letter, saying he would use it as soon as he could for an album cover. Six months later I found myself in N.Y. listening to him play at the Five Spot. During a break I went over to his table and introduced myself. He looked at me with disdain and hardly greeted me. When I told him I was the artist who did the painting he sneered and turned his back to me, resuming his conversation with a friend. I forgot that love between colors is not always mutual.

Mati Klarwein.

THIS DAY March 9

Posted by Shiva on March 8, 2009

March 9, 2009: Dhaka, Bangladesh. At first glance, Bably Akter looks like any other nine-year-old Bangladeshi girl, dressed in a brightly coloured pink and turquoise skirt and top trimmed with silver sequins.

A matching headband conceals her left ear, badly deformed and the only obvious sign she is the victim of an acid attack, a practice rampant in the impoverished country, used mainly in domestic disputes and against women and children.

As her mother, Parul, recounts the story of how Bably’s father put drops of acid on different parts of her body every day for five days when she was a baby, the little girl lifts her skirt to reveal a large scar on her legs and feet.

“Her father wanted a son. He’d been violent towards me before Bably was born but it was not until day five, when he actually fed her acid I realised something was seriously wrong,” Parul, 26, said.

She complained to the police but charges were never laid.

“We ran away and spent two years at the Acid Survivors’ Foundation (ASF) hospital where Bably had a lot of plastic surgery on her mouth. She still needs more operations.”

With her broad grin and her love of dancing, Bably speaks about her dreams of one day becoming a doctor to help others in the South Asian nation.

“She says she doesn’t remember what happened but sometimes she cries for no reason. Her speech is a little bit impaired and she gets teased at school,” Parul said.

The Dhaka-based ASF says most victims of acid attacks bear obvious physical scars, which make them pariahs. Bably is one of the lucky ones.

Efforts in Bangladesh in recent years to curb the practice mean cases are slowly declining, but human rights campaigners say acid remains too easy to buy.

“Acid throwing is rampant in the southern and northern parts of Bangladesh where it is used for dying the fishing nets and in the handloom industry,” said ASF doctor Imtiaz Bahar Choudhury.

Last year 179 people — three-quarters of those women and children — were victims of acid violence in Bangladesh, with 20 cases already recorded for 2009, according to the ASF.

The most common reasons for the attacks are disputes over property and dowry payments, and unrequited love where spurned suitors try to disfigure women who reject them.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said this week one woman in five around the globe has been a victim of rape or attempted rape, and that in some countries one woman in three has been beaten or subjected to some kind of violent act.

Violence against women is an abomination. I’d like to call it a crime against humanity,” Ban said ahead of International Women’s Day on Sunday.

The last major study into domestic violence in Bangladesh found that about 60 percent of women had been physically or sexually abused.

About 19 percent of those had experienced severe physical violence, defined as being hit with a fist or object, kicked or dragged, beaten up, choked, burnt, or threatened with a weapon.

Poverty, especially hunger, played a significant role in determining the degree and frequency of violence against women at home in Muslim-majority Bangladesh, where 40 percent of people live below the poverty line.
March 9, 2009: Badaber, Pakistan. A bomb-laden car exploded this morning in northwest Pakistan as police tried to pull a body from it, authorities said, killing seven police and a bystander
After an unknown caller told them a body was in a parked car, according to Police Chief Rahim Shah.
“Police went there. They found the white car. They also saw a body inside, but when they were pulling it out, the car bomb went off,” he said, calling the set-up a “new technique.”
Footage from the scene showed a police van whose front was decimated.

The attack occurred just outside the Khyber tribal region, a part of Pakistan’s semiautonomous tribal belt where military forces have staged offensives to stem militant activity. Pakistan recently claimed victory in an offensive against militants in Bajur, another tribal region. Officials also say they are close to flushing out militants in nearby Mohmand tribal area.

A man wearing an explosive vest and riding a motorcycle also laden with explosives drove into a crowd of Baghdad police recruits and blew himself up, killing 28 people including five policemen. The injured people, with some in critical condition, were immediately taken to the nearby Al-Kindi and Ibn al-Nafees hospitals in the area as the security forces cordoned off the site of attack.

The suicide bomber carried out the attack at the back entrance of the capital city’s largest police academy, where a group of potential recruits were waiting in line.

Iran test-fires new long-range missile

Posted by avideditor on March 8, 2009

Bomb Iran now. It might already be too late.

From Al Rutuers

TEHRAN (Reuters) – Iran has test-fired a new long-range missile, the country’s state Press TV reported on Sunday.

Iran often stages war games or tests weapons to show its determination to counter any attack by foes including Israel and the United States, which accuse the Islamic Republic of seeking to develop nuclear bombs. Tehran denies the charge.

“Iran test fires new long range missile,” Press TV, Iran’s English-language television station, said in a scrolling headline without giving details.

The Press TV report came less than a week after a top Iranian military commander said that Iranian missiles could now reach Israeli nuclear sites.

Israel has not ruled out military action if diplomacy fails to end the row over Iran’s nuclear aims, echoing U.S. policy, though U.S. President Barack Obama has also offered to engage Iran in direct talks if it “unclenches its fist”.

Iran has often said it has missiles able to reach the Jewish state but had not previously mentioned such specific targets. Israel is believed to be the only nuclear-armed Middle East state.

Jihad = Mein Kampf – Part 2

Posted by Glezele Vayne on March 8, 2009

BS”D

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” — Edmund Burke, Irish philosopher, statesman (1729-1797)

In Arabic, “jihad” literally means “self-struggle”. That is the soft definition. Allowing ourselves to become entangled in politically correct ideas and language will disarm us. It will weaken our resolve to defend ourselves and our way of life.

We are meant to think the concept of “jihad’ is solely about an internal, spiritual struggle. No. This is only part of the truth, says Walid Shoebat, a former PLO terrorist in part 3 of this series. He goes on to tell us that “Mein Kampf” also means “my struggle”. He then asks us, what and who was Hitler struggling against? And then we must wonder, who are the jihadis struggling against?

I’ve excerpted some quotes from the video below, entitled “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West”. I have this entire series linked on my “Jihadis” page, at the very bottom. It can also be found, of course, on Youtube.

There is a demonstrable connection between the concept of “jihad”, the Muslim’s struggle against the Jewish people, the West, and all non-Muslims, indeed against all moderate Muslims, and “Mein Kampf”, Hitler’s struggle against the Jewish people and all who refused to submit to his view of things. The filmmakers are showing us how history is repeating itself. By excerpting especially poignant quotes, I hope to make plain that 1936 has arrived. Yesterday is back. Are we going to make the same mistakes?

Mein Kampf is a runaway bestseller in some Muslim controlled regions, such as the Palestinian administered territories.

— Ellie Katz

Obsession: Part 2 of 10

We swear by the blood and severed bodies of our children and torment of our prisoners, and we will reply by blowing our bodies (sic). – Suicide bombers induction ceremony, Lebanon 1996

We need to understand the culture that produced terrorism. — Noni Darwish, daughter of a shahid (martyr)

Some people view the current situation with the Middle East as a clash of civilization. I think it’s more than that, way more than that. I think it’s an outright declaration of war from radical Islam on Western culture, on the Judeo-Christian culture. And…we should know that. It’s a declaration of war. — Noni Darwish, daughter of a shahid (martyr)

…It’s part of a campaign of jihad, holy war to bring down the West, undermine the very foundations of Christianity and Judaism. – Khaled Abu Toameh, Palestinian Journalist

The Islamists hate everything other than what they are themselves. They killed, for example, over 100,000 Algerians who disagreed with their brand of Islam. These are fellow Muslims. — Daniel Pipes, Director, Middle East Forum

There is a particular strand of Islam that has, in fact, challenged what I think is the absolutely central pillar of human civilization as such, namely, the sacredness of life itself. – Professor Robert Wistrich, Chair, Sassoon Center for Antisemitism

The most honorable death is by killing. And the most honorable killing and the most glorious martyrdom is when a man is killed for the sake of Allah. – Sheikh Hassah Nasrallah, Hizbollah General Secretary General, Al Manar TV 2005, (Translation MEMRI)

We succeeded with Allah’s grace, to raise an ideological generation that loves death like our enemies love life. – Raed Said Hussein Saad, Al-Qassam Brigades, Commander N. Gaza, Hamas website, December 2005 (translation Palestinian Media Watch)

Most people don’t realize the Muslims are also victims, because if they disagree, they get killed. — Walid Shoebat, former PLO terrorist

Would some Muslim or some Arab who in his heart believes that the Arab terrorism is terrorism, can he say it in (sic) publicly? He will be lynched in a Muslim society if he says that Hamas is a terrorist (sic). – Tashbih Sayyed, Editor, Pakistan Today

I would estimate that some 10 to 15%, and let me stress that it’s an estimate, of Muslims worldwide support militant Islam. That is not to say that only 10 to 15% are anti-American or anti-Zionist. No, that’s much larger. – Daniel Pipes, Director, Middle East Forum

1.2 billions are there with 15% (sic). This is a huge number. This is as big as the united States of America. And the bad thing about it is that they are spread all throughout (sic). — Walid Shoebat, former PLO terrorist

In the Middle East, Islam is our identity, is our political life, is our social life, it’s our life. As a child I attended Gaza elementary schools and we were taught that jihad is a religious holy war for the sake of Allah. That is what it is…to conquer the world for Allah. That is jihad. – Noni Darwish, daughter of a shahid (martyr)

We must educate our children on the love of jihad for the sake of Allah. And the love of fighting for the sake of Allah. — Sheikh Ibrahim Madhi, Palestinian TV, 2001 (translation by MEMRI)

THIS DAY March 8

Posted by Shiva on March 7, 2009

March 8, 2009: Jakarta, Indonesia - A MUSLIM cleric in Indonesia was questioned on Friday over his marriage to a 12-year-old village girl, police said.

The marriage between cleric Pujianto Cahyo Widiyanto, 43, and junior high school student Lutfiana Ulfa in August sparked an outcry from civic groups in the world’s most populous Muslim country.

Widiyanto and his supporters say his actions are acceptable under Islam but others say he should abide by state law, which sets 16 as the minimum age for marriage.

‘He has been questioned since this morning,’ a police officer told AFP from Semarang in Central Java.

Although Indonesian law carries stiff penalties for paedophilia, arranged marriages between older men and girls are not uncommon, especially in poorer rural areas.

Moralizing Clerics Back Anti-Porn Law but Take Child Bride

November 28, 2008 JAKARTA ~ Muslim clerics who claim to be protecting vulnerable women by backing a new anti-pornography law have come out in defense of a fellow preacher who has married a 12-year-old village girl.

The issue of child brides for religious men in the mainly Muslim country has became a subject of national debate since little-known cleric Pujianto Cahyo Widiyanto, 43, married junior high school student Lutfiana Ulfa in August.

His case went virtually unnoticed until Muslim conservatives started lobbying parliament to pass a new anti-pornography bill that was opposed by a broad spectrum of civil society groups and non-Muslims.

Passed in October with the backing of the very clerics who are now defending Widiyanto, the law criminalizes all movements and works, including poetry and music, deemed obscene and capable of violating public morality.

“These clerics are hypocrites,” lawmaker Said Abdullah, from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle of former president Megawati Sukarnoputri, told AFP.

“They say the anti-porn law will protect young women, but yet they dehumanize them by marrying underage girls and supporting child marriage.”

Under Indonesian pedophilia laws, Widiyanto could face 15 years’ jail for having sex with a minor. He is under investigation but openly talks about his love of pubescent girls and his plans to marry more.

“There is no coercion. The girls like me and their parents have given their blessings,” Widiyanto was quoted as telling Detikcom news website.

And no one should interfere because child brides are allowed under Islam, according to Muslims such as Hilman Rosyad Syihab, the deputy head of the Islam-based Prosperous Justice Party which backed the pornography law.

He said Islam allowed marriage regardless of whether a girl had reached sexual maturity.

“But the husband can only have sex with her once she reaches puberty,” he explained, in contravention of the law which sets 16 as the minimum marriage age for women and 18 as the age of consent

Some thing stinks here because according to Indonesian Marriage Law 1974 (no. 1/74)

Marriage Age: minimum marriage age 19 for males and 16 for females; provision for marriage below minimum age, subject to judicial discretion and parental consent

March 8, 2009: Bangkok, Thailand. A Russian businessman dubbed the ‘Merchant of Death’ for allegedly arming dictators and warlords said on Friday there is no proof showing he’s the world’s biggest arms dealer and accused the US of pressuring Thailand to extradite him. Viktor Bout, a former Soviet air force officer, also complained of inhumane treatment at a Thai prison that he said was cramped, hot, uncivilised and ‘worse than Guantanamo’.

The 41-year-old Bout has long been linked to some of Africa’s most notorious conflicts, allegedly supplying arms to former Liberian dictator Charles Taylor and Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.

He has been jailed in Thailand since his arrest in Bangkok a year ago and is accused of conspiring to arm Colombian rebels. Bout’s extradition hearing started in June but it has been repeatedly postponed by a shifting cast of attorneys and defence witnesses who have failed to appear.

His hearing was again delayed on Friday because his wife complained she was sick and could not testify. The hearing will resume on Monday with the defence planning to call Bout to testify. Shackled at the ankles with his face pressed against the bars of a holding cell, Bout shouted to reporters ahead of Friday’s hearing. ‘If they say I am the biggest arms dealer – so, where is the proof?’

Bout said at Bangkok’s Criminal Court, calling the accusations against him ‘lies and rumours’. When asked by reporters if he felt politics were behind his arrest, Bout shouted, ‘It’s a theatre!’ Dressed in an orange prison uniform, Bout also yelled at guards who tried to prevent him from speaking during a 10-minute exchange with reporters in French, English and Russian.

One of Bout’s lawyers, Lak Nitiwatanavichan, told the court Bout was illegally detained and requested his immediate release. Judges said they would consider the motion. The United States is seeking the extradition of Bout, who was arrested March 6, 2008, at a Bangkok luxury hotel.

Agents from the US Drug Enforcement Administration posed as rebels from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or Farc, looking to buy millions of dollars in weapons. Bout was charged with conspiracy for allegedly trying to smuggle missiles and rocket launchers to Farc, which is a US-designated terrorist organisation.

He was later indicted in the US of four terrorism-related charges. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Bomb poet’s shrine to protest women visitors

Suspected militants bombed the mausoleum in Pakistan of a 17th-century poet on Thursday, apparently because women have been visiting the shrine.
A letter delivered to the management of the mausoleum of Abdul Rehman, commonly known as Rehman Baba, on the outskirts of Peshawar in northwestern Pakistan three days before the attack warned against “shrine culture,” Sahibzada Mohammad Anees, a top government official in the city told Pakistan’s English-language DawnNews television.
The letter also noted that women were coming to pray at the shrine.
No one was hurt in the pre-dawn blast but the mausoleum was badly damaged. The Sufi poet is revered in Pakistan and Afghanistan for his mystical, melodic poetry. Written in the Pashto language, his verses about love and peace are commonly quoted and have been translated into English, French, Russian, Urdu, Arabic and other languages.

A professor at Peshawar University told the television network that Rehman Baba’s poems are kept alongside the Islamic holy book, the Quran, in many homes.
Islamic militants have been stepping up attacks in Pakistan, especially in the Pashtun-dominated northwest, and are increasingly seen as a threat to the nation of 170 million people. They have tried to stamp out what they see as inappropriate practices such music and dancing. They also consider paying homage at graves heretical. And they believe Islam prohibits men and women from mingling unless they are husband and wife.

March 7, 2009:
Peshawar, Pakistan.
One woman has died and 28 people have been injured in an attack on the Presbyterian Christian community in the village of Songo, in the district of Gujranwala, province of Punjab. The attack took place on the evening of March 2: at 8 p.m., a group of Muslim inhabitants opened fire on the faithful who had gathered in the church for prayer. The woman, named Shakeela, died on the spot, while other members of the faithful suffered injuries of various kinds while they were seeking to flee from the bullets or to protect the pastor. The attackers broke the windows of the church, destroyed the Bibles and the other prayer books, and removed the cross from the roof of the building. The victims of the attacks say that this was a premeditated action, and recount that in the previous weeks they had received a number of threats from the attackers. The authors of the attack have been identified, and a report against them has been filed at the local police station. The Pakistan Christian Post says that for now, the security forces have turned down the request for investigations on the attackers. For this reason, the burial of the woman’s body has been delayed, to permit an autopsy in evidence of the attack.

The attack in Songo is added to a long list of violent events that are now being seen more or less everywhere in Punjab and in the North-West Frontier Province (NWFP). The attacks are carried out by the Taliban, but also by ordinary people, and they are not coming to an end in the Swat Valley, where a fragile ceasefire has been attained by the government, thanks to the concession of introducing sharia in that district and in the district of Malakand.

During the night of March 5, the Taliban blew up 16 CD and DVD stores in Takhtbhai, in the district of Mardan northeast of Peshawar, the capital of the NWFP. It is one of the many places in the province that in recent months have come under the grip of the Taliban. In February, it was the theater of attacks against girls’ schools, carried out by Islamic fundamentalists, and in spite of the fact that the agreement between the Taliban and the government provides for the reopening of schools to girls, many are afraid of fresh violence.

Since the beginning of the year, people have been abandoning the Swat Valley by the thousands. These include many families and a number of teachers, who have formally stated that they are going on vacation. One mother who left the district recounts: “All the best teachers from my children’s schools have left. I do not think they will go back. According to my relatives there, many children have gone back to school, but there are now too few teachers.”

Meanwhile while the boys are having fun, the girls have to be fed.

Jihadi Jumping

Posted by Glezele Vayne on March 5, 2009

BS”D

No, I’m not recommending jumping a jihadi. Seems they have the corner on that market. I was jumping around from one jihadi story to the next today…it’s just amazing what a bunch of trouble these folks are stirring up and how wimpy Western democracies are in response. I think we’re stymied because we are under the impression that what we are confronting are religious fanatics, and whatever we do, we don’t want to stifle freedom of religion.

Get that out of your heads as fast as you can. Islam is not primarily a religion. It is an all-encompassing, all-controlling political system with an inseparable religious component to it. An article by Spengler at the Asia Times gives us some perspective on Islam, defining it as both a religion and a political ideology. Spengler cautions us that it is this combination which makes Islam dangerous.

Another way to view Islam can be found at Jihad Watch, in “Islam 101″ by Gregory M. Davis. In his words, it has been “transformed Islam from a relatively benign form of monotheism into an expansionary, military-political ideology that persists to this day.” It is easy to observe, in most cases, that Islam as it is interpreted and practiced today, can’t seem to live alongside or tolerate democratic, representative governments. These elements together make Islam in our day positively toxic.

This does not mean I hate Muslims. The system is the problem. Had I been alive when slavery was an accepted insitution, I would have been an abolitionist. Does that mean I would have hated people of African descent? If this is a comparison that seems a non-sequitur to you, just check this site out, and then watch some videos by Dr. Wafa Sultan, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, or Walid Shoebat. I have some here, or you can peruse the stock at Youtube, or Google Video, or get yourself some good books by any of them.

Islam, as it is packaged and sold by the jihadis, is not the ultimate society, in spite of it’s more fanatical adherents insistence. It is the ultimate fascism.

Jews attacked with a steel bar in Antwerp, Arab bulldozes Jews in Jerusalem, Jews grabbed by a security guard at U of Toronto seminar, threatened with beheading with a saw!! (now that’s rude).

Assault and threats to Jewish student following questions

While last night had higher profile anti-Zionists and anti-Semites, what with Naomi Klein and Sid Ryan, tonight had greater righteous indignation of the “oppressed Fakestinians”.

Notably, with Jews visible in the audience, the audience was repeatedly told from the dias that no photography or recording of any type was allowed by anyone without “media clearance”.

On a number of occasions organizers tried to force me to depart with my camera, though I had not taken even one shot. i told them that when everyone with a cell-phone leaves or gives up their phone i will give up my camera too.

Later, during questions, organizers, ” security”, surrounded the area where visible Jews were seated. A Jew asked a question: “Is Hamas’s charter racist “? That question then become the focus of vitriole, the “security” closed in around the Jews, security then started to push the Jews, then the dias demanded that the Jew leave the room. The Jew replied out loud that he would not depart unless told to do so by the Police. They came in from the lobby, and that ensued.

While this went on, I pulled out my camera and started to shoot. All manner of people closed in around me, and tried to obscure my lens. I got a few shots, and left for the lobby to catch the newly-evicted Jews’ fate. Organizers were demanding my photos, and my name. They got neither, though it will be next to impossible to be anonymous tomorrow.

For my efforts, a Police Sergeant came up to me and pushed me out the front doors using his chest and flack-jacket against my chest. I asked him why i was being pushed out the doors and he said that. “you know why”. Why? Because I look Jewish? Because I was photographing the altercation started by the islamo-fascists? OR, because he is brown ? Oh, but I can’t make that silly, facetious, suggestion, all while being profiled myself ……….

Then There Was Light and other sites are carrying the same story.

At the Muslim Day Parade of 2008, this man asks his god god to annihilate Israel with a nuclear holocaust…

Because they’re asking “allah” for a horrific destruction of 6 million Jewish souls, I suppose we’re not to construe this as Muslims threatening Israel. Hm. I wonder who they think “allah” would be  using to carry out his  will. Anybody with ideas…please comment.

You’ll hear that line of reasoning towards the bottom of this post, also found at Wikipedia’s article on the Islamic Thinkers Society. Glenn Beck interviews a guy named Jesse.

I.T.S. threatens jihad against America.

This doesn't look very friendly to me...

Muslim Day Parade, 2007. This doesn't look very friendly to me...

Robert Spencer is also threatened by the I.T.S. (that’s a weird one).

“May Allah rip out his spine from his back and split his brains in two, and then put them both back, and then do it over and over again. May He put this friend of shaytaan in the worst part of jahannum. Ameen.”

So, most of us have probably told someone to go to hell, and that is harsh. But I wouldn’t pursue legal action against someone who hopes I go to hell and says so. Hell, I might even laugh at him, slap him on the back. Hard.

Spencer might want to consider it on this one. Isn’t the above threat a bit over the top? I thought death threats weren’t protected speech? Or does the fact that these men pray out loud that their god will do these heinous acts protect them? Do they actually get to hide behind that, when their descriptions are so gruesome??

I was perusing Jihad Watch…and found some links hacked. Same with WorldNetDaily. I notified them, because I actually do believe in freedom of speech. I’m sure those sites are kept busy by the religion of peace. One of the links that was hacked was to a video of the man who called a woman he disagreed with a whore at an I.T.S. demonstration. I have embedded that video below.  He is a Jewish convert to Islam. Sad. So very sad.

Meanwhile, broadcast news continues reporting mostly local soft news, love triangles and such, along with a few bank robberies, and murders. Okay. Some of that is important. I wish the love triangles could remain private matters. If I want to know about that sort of thing, I’ll watch Access Hollywood or read The Globe. But that’s just me…

But what about the fact that several anti-American, openly jihadist, foreign entities, now operate on American soil?

And this isn't even the most updated version....

And this isn't even the most updated version....

Here’s a video on this that will really curl (or straighten, whatever you need) your hair.

These events aren’t newsworthy??

During the course of my reading today, I ran across another organization that keeps tabs on jihadist activities – Militant Islam Monitor.org. Very worthy of our attention.

We’re all watching each other these days aren’t we? Something’s gone haywire. Oh. Yeah. Our constitution isn’t being implemented. The one that the jihadists now openly tell Americans needs replacing with sharia (Islamic law) under a khalifate. That constitution. The constitution that our government officials take an oath to defend, along with “all enemies, both foreign and domestic”. Don’t these people, who call for our deaths, for the end of our chosen method of government – sound like enemies to you???

Of particular interest on the Wikipedia site regarding the Muslim Thinker’s Society is the link on the bottom entitled, “A Glenn Beck interview of a member of the Islamic Thinkers Society. Glenn hits pretty hard. Sorry, it’s a soundfile not a video.

Below is a video and a photo one of the guy’s from I.T.S.  calling a woman a whore. It can be clearly heard at the beginning of the video. In response, the woman tosses coffee on him. One of his buddies begins asking in a demanding tone, repeatedly, “Will you arrest her?” Several witnesses kept insisting that the man called the woman a whore.

This is so typical of Islamic behavior. They start the fight, the victim defends himself, herself, or in the case of groups, nations etc. they then go complaining about the response!! How about let’s not go picking fights guys??

The guy is a Jewish convert to Islam, calling women "whores".

The guy is a Jewish convert to Islam, a member of Islamic Thinker's Society, expressing his thoughts. He calls a woman he is arguing with a whore. Later, in the video, you'll here him call women who are speaking up on the first woman's behalf "children" and "filthy", and claiming they don't know how to have a discussion.

I leave you with a quote from my religion. “Pray for the welfare of the non-Jewish government, since were it not for the fear of it men would swallow each other alive.” (Avot 3:2 and Rashi’s commentary.)

THIS DAY March 6

Posted by Shiva on March 5, 2009

March 6, 2009. Jerusalem, Israel. A Palestinian driver rammed a construction vehicle into a bus and police car on a highway Thursday, wounding two officers before he was shot dead, police said — the latest in a string of attacks by militants using heavy machinery against Israeli targets.
Witnesses described a towering yellow front loader speeding along Jerusalem‘s Begin Highway, a main thoroughfare, dragging the police car, flipping it into the air and trying to crush it with its shovel.

Witnesses said the attacker apparently worked at a nearby construction site. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, though the Hamas militant group that rules the Gaza Strip praised the attack. Police said the man was not carrying identification.

“It was simply an attack meant to murder innocent people,” Mayor Nir Barkat told Channel 2 television. He called for the demolition of the attacker’s home, a tactic that has drawn international criticism. Barkat said such demolitions are needed to deter other attacks.

The rampage came as Israel prepared to celebrate Purim, a holiday in which schools are closed, children dress up in costumes and families attend parties and public events.

Barkat said the attack would not stop next week’s celebrations. “We need to get back to our routine as fast as possible to show the terrorists that they won’t ruin our holiday,” he said.

One witness, a taxi driver, told Israel Radio he chased the driver as he watched the attack.

“I saw the police car fly into the air. He flipped it over twice, then continued dragging it toward a bus that was stuck in traffic,” he said. He told the station he fired four shots at the man, wounding him. “Then a policeman came with his M-16 and finished him off,” he said.

Deputy police chief Nisso Shachar said the attacker was first spotted by a traffic police car. “The officer saw the bulldozer lift up a police squad car with its shovel after trying to squash it,” he said. “It is without a doubt a terror attack.”

Police said the two wounded officers were lightly hurt. The bus was not carrying passengers.

Shachar said the man was killed and an open copy of the Quran, Islam’s holy book, was found in the vehicle. He said the presence of the book indicated the attacker was affiliated with or influenced by Islamic radicals.

In the Gaza Strip, Hamas praised the attack. “We bless this operation today in Jerusalem,” said spokesman Fawzi Barhoum. “The Palestinian people have the right to defend themselves, and we emphasize we will defend our homeland.”

March 6 2009 Tehran, Iran. An Iranian woman living in Spain said Wednesday she welcomed a Tehran court ruling that awards her eye-for-an-eye justice against a suitor who blinded her with acid.

Ameneh Bahrami, 30, told Cadena SER radio, “I am not doing this out of revenge, but rather so that the suffering I went through is not repeated.”

Late last year an Iranian court ruled that the man — identified only as Majid — who blinded Bahrami in 2004 after she spurned him, should also be blinded with acid based on the Islamic law system of “qisas,” or eye for an eye retribution, according to Iranian newspaper reports from November.

But Bahrami, who moved to Spain after the attack to get medical treatment, said Wednesday that under Iranian law, she is entitled to blind him in only one eye, unless she pays euro20,000 ($25,110), because in Iran women are not considered equal to men.

“They have told us that my two eyes are equal to one of his because in my country each man is worth two women. They are not the same,” she told Cadena SER.

THIS DAY March 5

Posted by Shiva on March 4, 2009

March 5 2009: Copenhagen, Denmark. On Sunday night two masked youths, connected to the immigrant gangs that are fighting out a turf war with the Hell’s Angels, attacked a pub on Amager in Copenhagen. They forced a man to lie on his belly at gunpoint and then fired 10 shots into the pub, killing one and injuring two, before shooting the man on the street in his kneecaps.

The incident is the third in as many days. On Saturday night a 32-year-old man trying to park his car on his way to a concert was shot by youths on bikes, and on Friday another random victim, a young man, not connected to any of the involved groups, was shot and had his throat cut in execution style at an estate in Copenhagen’s troubled Norrebro area, probably by people connected to the AK81 supporters of Hell’s Angels.

The gang war has been pasteurising life in the Danish capital for far too long. The police have tried to control matters, but rather than being solved, the problems seem to be escalating and the locals are increasingly staying indoors or even moving out of the trouble spots. Normal Copenhagen residents fear being mistaken for a gang member by stressed criminals worried for their own safety. The number of casualties unrelated to the various groups is rising dramatically.

The Danish minister of justice, Brian Mikkelsen, insists that the fight against the gangs is being won, but it certainly doesn’t feel that way walking on Norrebro in central Copenhagen on the weekend. The atmosphere, in an area usually full of people in shops and cafes, is tense – the locals just want the problems and the criminals to go away.

The Danish integration minister, Birthe Ronn Hornbech, is now contemplating the introduction of a new set of laws that will in effect mean that all foreigners caught committing a crime involving a weapon will be expelled from the country. The proposed policy is supported by the rest of centre-right government and the Danish People’s party, and therefore looks likely to be passed in parliament. But several experts(muslim) have warned that the new zero tolerance strategy is risking institutionalised inequality. While the tough line might have some effect on the immigrant gangs, it could easily be seen by the Hell’s Angels as giving them the upper hand and reason to start an offensive.

Danish police have increased their presence in the Copenhagen trouble spots, but so far they have been hapless bystanders. The gang war is being fought between two factions fighting for control of the lucrative drugs market. But, for all the shootings and stabbings, the real victims are the local residents. It is strange that it should take dozens of episodes with firearms and several deaths before the police are willing to upgrade their presence

The ongoing gang war, with its clear ethnic tensions, has done little to better the already strained relationship between white Danes and foreigners. But while the Hell’s Angels and their supporters are a clear and relatively easily defined group, the immigrant gangs are less well known. It is them the Danish population fear the most.

AND SO THEY SHOULD

THIS DAY March 4

Posted by Shiva on March 4, 2009

March 4, 1238: Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia The Battle of the Sit River. In 1235 , Batu, who earlier had directed the conquest of the Crimea, was assigned an army of possibly 130,000 to oversee an invasion of Europe. His relatives and cousins Guyuk, Buri, Mongke, Khulgen, Kadan, Baidar and notable Mongol generals Subotai , Borolday and Mengguser joined him by the order of his uncle Ogedei.
The army, actually commanded by Subutai, crossed the Volga and invaded Volga Bulgaria in 1236. It took them a year to extinguish the resistance of the Volga Bulgarians, Kypchaks, and Alani.
In November 1237 Batu Khan sent his envoys to the court of Yuri II of Vladimir and demanded his allegiance. A month later, the hordes besieged Ryazan. After six days of the bloody battle, the city was totally annihilated, and never restored its former glory.
Alarmed by the news, Yuri II sent his sons to detain the horde, but these were soundly defeated. Having burnt Kolomna and Moscow, the horde laid siege to Vladimir on February 4, 1238.
Three days later the capital of Vladimir-Suzdal was taken and burnt to the ground. The royal family perished in the fire, while the grand prince hastily retreated northward. Crossing the Volga, he mustered a new army, which was totally exterminated by the Mongols on the Sit’ River on March 4.The Battle of the Sit River was fought in the northern part of the present-day Yaroslavl Oblast of Russia between the Mongol Hordes of Batu Khan and the Russians under Yuri II of Vladimir-Suzdal during the Mongol invasion of Russia.
After the Mongols sacked his capital of Vladimir, Yuri fled across the Volga northward, to Yaroslavl, where he hastily mustered an army. He and his brothers then turned back toward Vladimir in hopes of relieving the city before the Mongols took it, but they were too late. Yuri sent out a force of 3,000 men under Dorozh to scout out where the Mongols were; whereupon Dorozh returned saying that Yuri and his force was already surrounded. As he tried to muster his forces, he was attacked by the Mongol force under Burundai and fled but was overtaken on the Sit River and died there along with his nephew, Prince Vsevolod of Yaroslavl.[1] The battle marked the end of unified resistance to the Mongols and inaugurated two centuries of the Mongol domination of Rus.

Bulgaria vs Jihadis

Bulgaria is...delicious!

Bulgaria is...delicious!

I can’t seem to recall how I found the Novinite (Sofia) news service. It is interesting though. So, here it goes:

Bulgaria MP Yaney: Numerous Southern Villages are Converted to Islam by force

Where is Bulgaria?

Anyone else getting confirmation of this sort of thing in the region? Is this a new development or has this been a struggle in that part of the world for awhile? Considering where they are located, it would make sense to me that the struggle against jihadists is not a new one for Bulgaria, but perhaps an intensifying one. Some exerpts:

“In Ribnovo, the school principal, Feim Issa, had imposed full dictatorship on the teaching staff, forcing them to wear traditional Muslim clothes, and encouraging female student to the same.”

“The RZS leader stated he was appalled by the extreme violations of the rights and freedoms of Bulgarian citizens, embedded in the Constitution. RZS distributed to the media video postcards, showing how radical Islam is quickly taking roots in the country, under the courteous watch of the ruling tri-party Coalition.”

Federman Farm Life and Other Hevroni Adventures

Posted by Glezele Vayne on March 3, 2009

BS”D

Noam and Elisheva Federman, both children of right wing activists, are brave patiots fighting for Jewish sovereignty in Eretz Israel.

Noam is the son of David Federman. David fought in Lehi, was arrested by the British during Mandate period, deported to Ethiopia, sharing a prison cell with future Prime Minister Yitzchak Shamir.

All I can find on Elisheva is that she is the daughter of David Ramati, an American immigrant to Israel, who lives in Kiryat Arba, a lovely town in the vicinity of Hevron.

The Federmans have 9 children. They have found there way to the news for many years, continually challenging the appeasers within the Israeli government who insist that significant portions of Israel become “judenrein”. I doubt they are really anxious to be in the news, but simply want to live in peace on the land the Almighty has given to them and the Jewish people. I don’t write neutrally about these people. I believe in their cause, as it is mine as well.

Below are a few articles I found that are pertinent to the latest controversy; namely, the brutal, middle of the night destruction of the Federman farm. What is reported is that over 100 black uniformed policemen surrounded the Federman home, children sleeping, busted through their doors and windows, roughly grabbed and even reportedly beat them and their children, ages 1 to 17, the oldest being a girl. They proceeded to throw Noam to the ground, handcuff him, manhandle Elisheva, throwing them out of their home. They didn’t give them time to take any of their valuables, books, toys, …nothing. They then bulldozed the home and all that was in it. Elisheva reports that Bedouin and others trampled their holy books, Mishneh Torah and their Tanakhim, as if they were walking on the floor.

After the various article and post links, I have some videos where you can see what is left of the Federman home, listen to Noam, Elisheva and one of their children, twelve year old Oved Federman, as well as Nadia Matar. A court did rule that this “evacuation” was done in an unlawful manner.

Last but not least, you can watch a typical demonstration in Hevron against Israel.

“This is planned for every Torah observant Jewish home in the historical Jewish areas of Israel, except of course for those who facilitate these operations for narrow and superficial purposes. There are far more than enough people in Israel who strongly disagree with the policy of uprooting Jews. But they are not the kind of people who are prone to using violence to enforce their will.May Hashem bring Justice to Israel swiftly and soon.”

Ruth Matar encourages the Federman family and all loyal Jews…

And now a word from our peace loving neighbors…

The bravest of the brave are willing to take on the Israeli government on the issue of Hevron. One must be willing to be lied about, marginalized and demonized by the main stream media, both in Israel and abroad.

Here is a brief excerpt on the Hevron massacre from Jewish Virtual Library:

“When Jews finally gained control of the city in 1967, a small number of massacre survivors again tried to reclaim their old houses. Then defense minister Moshe Dayan supposedly told the survivors that if they returned, they would be arrested, and that they should be patient while the government worked out a solution to get their houses back. Years later, settlers moved to parts of Hebron without the permission of the government, but for those massacre survivors still seeking their original homes, that solution never came.”

The Jews of Hevron were taken by surprise when their Arab neighbors were willing to hunt them down, ferretting out every corner of their homes. The largely unarmed (okay, they had one gun) men, women and children hid behind their furniture, under their beds, in cellars. Approximately nineteen courageous Arab families helped their Jewish neighbors. These brave families, if they haven’t already, should be recognized as among the “Righteous Among the Nations”, but this probably won’t happen, as it would earn them everlasting scorn among their Arab brethren.

Hevron is now known as a completely the premier “Jew hating” town within Eretz Israel. I once visited Hevron in order to pray at Machpelah. We had to cancel due to rioting by the Arabs.

I will never forget the eyes of hatred that bore into mine from a particular Arab man, as our bus was stalled in traffic. He brazenly walked up close to our bus  and glared into the window of the bus. He caught my eye and slowly scanned back and forth between me and my little baby. He looked like he would have torn us both limb from limb if he thought he could get away with it.

In the Big Map News Week is still denying that Israel Exists

Posted by avideditor on March 3, 2009

Judge for yourself.

israel-is-still-red2It seems New Week is not very at being like Big Brother in 1984. Here is what Brain from Snapped shot said. “Newsweak has silently corrected the map in question. No admission of error, no correction, no nothing. Welcome to the New Soviet Era, my airbrush-loving friends.” It seems that News Week did not change there big map yet. Elder has noticed “Interestingly, their picture of Egypt is also pre-1967 – it includes Gaza.

The most charitable explanation I can come up with is abject ignorance. Perhaps we could clear all of this up if they had a report of Jordan’s religious freedom, so we could check out whether the West Bank is considered Jordanian territory, thus proving that Israel really doesn’t exist. ” “

THIS DAY March 3

Posted by Shiva on March 3, 2009

March 3 2009 Lahore, Pakistan. At least six policemen escorting the team bus were killed, along with a driver. Seven cricketers and an assistant coach were injured.

Pakistani officials said about 12 gunmen were involved and grenades and rocket launchers have been recovered. Officials said the incident bore similarities to deadly attacks in Mumbai in India last November. Pakistani cricket was already suffering from serious security concerns Pakistan invited Sri Lanka to tour only after India’s cricket team pulled out of a scheduled cricket tour on security grounds, following the Mumbai attacks.
And International Cricket Council president David Morgan told the BBC it would be “very difficult for international cricket to be hosted in Pakistan for quite some time to come”. Evacuation Reports suggest 10 to 12 gunmen ambushed the team coach and its accompanying police detail on the Liberty Square roundabout in the heart of Lahore, as the convoy was on the way to the Gaddafi stadium for a Test match.

Satellite image of Lahore

The BBC’s Barbara Plett, in Islamabad, says accounts suggest the attack was sophisticated in nature, with one group of gunmen firing a rocket-propelled grenade in order to create a diversion, while others then approached, firing guns on the convoy.
She says the gunmen – two of whom were shown in TV pictures carrying backpacks – seemed to be well-trained.
Sri Lanka’s assistant coach Paul Farbrace, who is British, told the BBC: “There was a lot of shouting and people hitting the floor and when I got to the floor I realised that the blood that I could see was coming from me – luckily superficial wounds.” The Sri Lankan wicketkeeper Kumar Sangakkara told Australia’s ABC radio that he and his team mates probably owed their lives to their bus driver. “We had an amazing driver who just kept driving the bus straight through all of that to the ground and that’s probably what saved us.
“Officials in Lahore said two members of the Sri Lankan team, Thilan Samaraweera and Tharanga Paranavitana, were sent to hospital.
‘Security failure’
The Pakistani politician Imran Khan, a former captain of the country’s cricket team, said the Sri Lankan visitors had been given inadequate protection. “This was one of the worst security failures in Pakistan,” he said. “The Pakistan government guaranteed the Sri Lankan cricket team that they would provide them security.”
None of the attackers was killed or apprehended at the scene. Grenades and rocket launchers were found there, police said, and a manhunt is under way.
Security forces will be investigating any connections to al-Qaeda and Taleban militants as well as Kashmiri jihadi groups.
A Pakistani air force helicopter has now airlifted uninjured members of the Sri Lankan team out of the Gaddafi Stadium. Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse condemned the “cowardly terrorist attack” and ordered the players’ evacuation back to Sri Lanka.
A plane is being chartered for this purpose. Mr Rajapakse is cutting short a visit to Nepal. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari also strongly condemned the attack, and ordered an immediate investigation “so that the perpetrators are identified and their motives exposed”, said a statement from his office.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for India’s foreign ministry offered sympathy and urged Pakistan to take “prompt, meaningful and decisive steps to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure once and for all”.

But a Pakistani minister, Sardar Nabil Ahmed Gabol, reportedly told private Geo TV that evidence suggested the attackers came across the border from India.

He said the assault came in reaction to the Mumbai attacks, and was a “declaration of open war on Pakistan by India”.
